Ok, so I've been back from travelling for less than two weeks. I've seen the BBC news twice now, normally during dinner. The stories - or rather, the tone of the stories is appauling.

Today it was...

Catastrophe, 2 KIA, Greedy Banks, Police Brutality, Dogs Put Down, Cloned Cows Milk. I switched it off before it got any further.

Last time it equated to

Murder, Murder, 4 kids die in a fire, Murder, Murder, Weather.

I understand they can't change the news, but honest to god - can't they at least mix it up with some uplifting stuff?

Give the peoiple what they want, if they reported about ducks in ponds or big brother news, you'd care for 5 nanoseconds before that "thread" disappeared somewhere in your mind.

Much prefer BBC News to any of the other television news channels, I'm not particularly interested in silly happy news stories.

Prefer that sort of stuff because it's actual news. Can't bear it when it has some American slags wedding photos or how "TV Star Dec missed England's goal"

Yup. It's also not "news" IMHO.
