I just finished the Ashlands and did a few rooms of the next dungeon. Combat is a little better but I'll never love it. Everything else is amazing, though.

I'm in a quandry.
I've played the demo and it grabbed me the same way that DMC4 did. I also wanted to get Brutal Legend, but I can't afford both.

In a straight choice between Bayonetta and Brutal Legend, which would you pick?

Bayonetta without a doubt, but Brutal Legend is very cheap now so up to you :)

Question about this actually. Got Sai-Fons (Pretty crap actually) and played through the game on normal. Game time of 18 fucking hours though as I played the prologue over and over to get it. Will that affect my ability to do the game in under 3 hours for the BoT?

I forgot to say that I got around to buying Bayonetta *AND* Brutal Legend on the same day using part-ex at Game.
Since then I've managed to get a couple of hours on Brutal Legend, and I've not even touched Bayonetta yet!
Then I got GT5 at Christmas. Played about 6 hours perhaps.

Then I downloaded Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 in the Steam Sale just before New Year.
ME took up 45 hours of my time and ME2 took 67 hours. Yes, I played them a lot in 3 weeks. I am now seriously considering buying ME2 for the PS3 just so I can see it in smooth 42" HD goodness.
There's something seriously wrong in my head. :)

Fired this up at last last night.

First off, it's fucking mental. It's both dark and incredibly cheesy with some utterly terrible music and voice acting. Suffers a great deal from being a typical schizophrenic Japanese game where it can't stick to one 'style' - which in this case would make it a much more streamlined product.

The opening of the game spends a lot of time introducing characters and story, only it does so in such a convulted manner you get really fed up and don't learn anything that couldn't be done in about 20 seconds.

Framerates on occasion do drop on the PS3 but in no way does it affect gameplay.

I would definitely agree with the comments that it's too hard to see her. It does make figuring out what you're doing, and what you want to do very difficult at times, and does result in button bashing as you simply can't plan your hits as you would like. The fact your character moves around so utterly quickly after input doesn't help - if you take this input as a prompt of when to buffer your next move you will get it wrong, which is really weird. There's normally a correlation between character speed and user input in these types of games, but this one uses quite a slow button sequence while moving the character about as if she's on cocaine, crack, speed and PCP all at once.

Haven't got far into it much at all - turned it off after completing one level with a platinum trophy, only for her to declare "I should have been a pole dancer!" It was relevant to utterly nothing, and made me hang my head in shame, particularly as my girlfirend was next to me at the time! I was hoping this game would move past the sex-object female lead character, given that she's supposed to be a witch, but no - it's not as progressive as I hoped it'd be.

I do quite like games like this, I did like DMC3 a lot, although I found it a bit too hard for my lack of skillz. Will play some more but if anyone has any similar recommendations I'd welcome them. For example, I absolutely LOVED the original Otogi: Myth of Demons on Xbox (not 360) - even though that slipped under the radar for a lot of people. It looked immense, used fantastic sound and I had the pleasure of testing it for a while. Plus the gameplay was utterly brilliant and completely polished. Never got a chance to play the sequel, and I don't know if the series continued after.

Yeah it's really pretty bad in that respect - I played the demo a bit and she had some special move where her clothes all unravelled and you could almost see bewb omg! Pretty typical sexpot female character, total shite.

As for similar stuff, I don't know of any really high quality ones but Wolverine and Darksiders are both worth a punt if you can get them cheap (wouldn't recommend spending more than a fiver on each on PC, or tenner on console). They're God of War clones - for want of a better term - and competent, fun ones at that.

I've not got around to Darksiders yet as far as GoW clones go, bought it a while ago but need to wait for my littlest to start sleeping. I played Dantes Inferno last year and that was quite good (fun but not great). Hated the Bayonetta demo though.

Is God of War definitely worth it? Is it so bastard hard I'm going to destroy things?

There are a few moments that will make you want to harm small puppies, but on the whole it's pretty straight forward.

Yeah I read that thread at the time but had nothing to contribute...

So, should I bother with 1, or just go straight for 2 or 3? 1 sounds like a ****.

Bear in mind that if Wij has to use a glitch in the game to get out of something, I will NEVER achieve it.

Maybe you won't get the problem. I just kept jumping up to the ledge and Kratos wouldn't grab it. For other people it just seems to work fine. Failing that use the glitch :)

(and thx. i am awesome)

Yes, I was a little surprised at how short it was. Good game though. Looking forward to City.

However, if you go for 100% completion it's a reasonable length. Plus if you're like me you'll get maaaaaaaaassses of replay value out of it. I've probably done 100% on hard about 5 times :S.

Yeah there was still a fair bit to do, but I'm not really interested in finding all the riddler trophies, or unlocking the challenges.

GoW Collection worth £18 new? Only has the first two in it though, boo!
