Six scripts have been ordered for Battlestar Galactica Season two Ron Moore Reports to Now Playing Magazine.

A further story from earlier states that the sets have NOT been struck yet and are awaiting news of a second season. February 18th has been set as a possible date for new episodes to resume shooting although this is UNCONFIRMED. Stay tuned for more info.

I waited and watched the last two eps back to back. Well worth it. If the second seasons scripts are as good as this seasons then we are on for a winner here.

Great stuff. Not only is it full of good bits it's also surprisingly devoid of rubbish bits e.g. any appearence by Kim (spit) in 24. Easily some of the best tv, let alone sci fi I've seen in quite a while.

SCI FI Channel has ordered a second season of its hit series Battlestar Galactica, which has aired five episodes of its first season of 13 episodes. Details of the renewal—including which cast members will return, how many episodes will be produced and when the second season will commence—were still being worked out at press time.

Battlestar Galactica has been a ratings winner for SCI FI since its Jan. 14 premiere. The latest episode, Feb. 4's "You Can't Go Home Again," scored the show's best ratings yet, with 3.2 million viewers.

For the show's second season, creator and executive producer Ronald D. Moore previously told SCI FI Wire that he has already been working on as many as six new scripts to resolve the multiple cliffhangers that will end season one. Moore added that he wants to delve deeper into the show's religious themes and open up the Cylon world a bit more in the coming season. Moore continues to post his thoughts on a personal blog on SCIFI.COM. Battlestar Galactica airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, part of the channel's SCI FI Fridays lineup.

A cow-orker lent the pilot episode to me last week, I'm about halfway through and very shocked at the "dark" aura of it all, I must admit it's great and I'll probably be getting Series One (out at end of March afaik).

I like the space scenes, although the wildly moving camera angle is cool, it does get on my nerves a bit, not as much as the continually rocking camera that was in Farscape.

Mentioning Farscape also brings to mind all the wakes of the many failed sci-fi series that BG is trying to avoid, I think the mix between "people" situations and all-out space opera is good in this one, ST:TNG got it right, this one I'm hopeful will do the same.

Got the box set yesterday, been waiting for it as missed large chunks of the series including the last 2 / 3 episodes.
