Battlefield for Playstation

Why, oh why do companies insist on porting very good FPSs from PC to console. Have they not worked out that controlling a FPS with a console pad is annoying at best. Anyway, I digress.

DICE and EA have announced that they will be releasing a version of Battlefield 1942 on the PlayStation II. Battlefield: Modern Combat with support up to 24 players over the PS2s broadband system and feature the usual array of vehicles and weaponary.

The game is planned for release in the fall.

Xbox - Halo
PS2 - TimeSplitters 2
GC - Metroid Fusion

Its all horses for courses really. If you grew up with consoles (like me) before getting a ninja PC youd have no problems. Hence people getting PC's before consoles prefer mouse and keys.

Anyway, the news. Its a good thing tho probably wont be a patch on the PC versions (BF:42 and V) due to spec issues, isnt 42 already being ported to Xbox? I expect a heavy emphasis on arcade blasting which wont necesarily be a bad thing.
