battlefield 2142 demo problem

Hi guys, just finished downloading bf2142 installed it, but it won't start it says this:



ive reinstalled and restarted the pc.
Also i downloaded it as a torrent and came in a .rar file, could that be part of the problem?

download the latest DirectX from microsoft.

I had the same problem.

You dont need to dl the new directx if you already have 9c, you just need 1 file.
i have emailed you the file,
place the file in the c:\window\system32 folder
