Yeah, BW servers are actually great to play on, and no one (with a few exceptions) whining about stuff.

90% of the servers on the list seem to be passworded, which is a bit of a pain

I *would* subscribe, only I don't actually play any games any more. None that require third party servers anyway. And whilst £24 a year is great value for your average CS'er, I'm not paying it just to try out a laggy buggy beta of a game :/

nope i'm afraid i ain't, tried it on my sisters pc also and got the same thing - both machines don't have Geforce cards..

Aye, my mate has a Geforce 2. I'm on a GF4 and it's fine (but thats pretty much obvious). I downloaded new drivers for him but still no luck, so I'm assuming that it's just not a powerful enough gfx card.

Looks and runs fine on my gf4, except for the connection problems
I know ive said this before , but im just banging on in case someone has seen the answer.
I use isdn, and normally get 50-100 ping on cs , q3 whatever, depending on the time of day. On this game i mostly get 500+ ping, and its unplayable. Ive looked on the EA forums and there seem to be other people with this problem, but no answers as yet ! Any ideas ? anyone ??

I ran it on my GF2 fine until my GF4 arrived yesterday.

It's the bandwidth required, it's stupidly high. If you get on a server with about 6 people you'll be alright. Hopefully the demo patch will sort this out, so until it's relased there's not much you can do besides play on emptyish servers.

dont think thats right i've been able to play* online on various different servers with my modems rediculous 190ms ping with around 20 other players. maybe your machines "underpowered" and doing other things while you try to play. mind my modem's in another box being network controller.

*wasnt really playing, more running around like a headless chicken repairing stuff and trying to hit the barn door but missing

I personally don't have a problem with it, I'm on the servers 3/4 hours a night without fault.

At least i finally got ISDN put back in today after a month and a 1/2!

Nope my pc's not doing other things at all , just that. Its got an athy 2.0xp / 512 ddr and does 9400 - odd on 3dmark , so Im fairly sure its not underpowered.
Yes it does it to pretty much all servers, which is frustrating, I entered the BW server the other night, saw loads of people I know, and err... stopped. 1000 ping !
Btw, I went on a BY server the other day, had 80 ping , what i'd expect. Played for 5 minutes, then the map restarted, like it does apparently. Game restarted, guess what, 1000 ping.

you sure you checked "56k/ISDN" and not "LAN" ???

if everything else runs fine across the ISDN card id say a re-install of the game might solve it, maybe its locked itself to LAN instead of 56k/ISDN ?

I thought that too, Ive tried all the different settings, 56k, isdn, lan etc. All the same.
I may well try a reinstall, as I seem to have run out of other options ....

I know a few folk who have had the same problem, it seems to a something to do with memeroy leakage, so I have been told. There is apparently a patch coming out for it which will sort some of the issues.
