Battle bard spec advice

Okies I'm rolling a battlebard on pvp and plan to make one on excal too when we finally get 8 char slots instead of 4 and I was wondering if the more experienced bard players could give me some advice on me planned spec.

After playing around with the figures on the char builder I settled down on:

39 blades (fireblade combo)
33 nuture (2nd best end and speed song)
18 regrowth (1st group heal + didnt have enough points left to raise nuture or music anymore )
37 music (1st ae insta)
12 points left over (dumped in blunts so they don't get wasted )

Any advice/tips would be much appreciated

i planned a bard for pvp. Spent a long time with character builder & came up with the following spec.

Nurture 33
Regrowth 15
Music 43
Blades 34.

It was a while ago & i cant remember my reasons for it at all.

When i did hit Camlan i rolled a Minstrel Much easier to spec. (only i have to keep porting to hib to level as i cant find my way around alb).

If the bard damage is anything like the warden damage which i think it should be you probably wont kill anything anyway. I think thats why i was planning higher music. Maybe it was for a DD i cant remember.

My minstrel is fun at level 10 i can take out any other rogue or caster orange con. & if i can mez the pet i can usually take an enchanter after i stun him while he runs.

if you want to melee, roll a hero/bm/champ.

I'd go for:

44 blunt (chain on positional move, get it in after you mezz someone)
44 music (last dd shout)
17 regrowth (spare points, use to heal after instamezz mid-fight)
13 nurture (second speed/end song, not enough points for the third set unless you decrease blunt or music)

But then again, I wouldn't level a battlebard up to 50 because they will be gimped. My bard had a "battlebard" spec for the excalibur battlegrounds and it seemed to work pretty well (50/50 with assassins):

13 blunt
16 nurture
18 music
8 regrowth

If you really want a battlebard, make one for BG and not for PvP. It's not worth it level 24+ I think. At level 24 I'd recommend
18 music, 18 blunt and 13 nurture. When you get attacked sprint away to a quiet place and turn around to mezz. Heal yourself and play end song, then start your attack with the positional move chain. You'll have a good chance vs most classes if you have good items.

hmm dont want a gimped char at lvl50 heh I'll just do battlebard on pvp only and make a 'normal' one on excal then

You're insane if you're rolling a BB. They outright S-U-C-K in terms of melee dmg.

Please, if you want to do a BattleNaturalist™ at least roll a Dr00d and be happy that you can kill stealthers

Well it depends if you really want to be a true BB or not. If you want just some weapon spec you could go 43N 16R 37M 29B, but if you want a true BB (meaning higher weapon spec and last DD shout) I think you'd have to go with something along the lines of 44M and 44B as Vodka pointed out.

Well with my bard on gorre using /respec I went 44 Blades/Music and trahed most classes.

The only classes I didnt manage to kill dualing where Frairs and Spirit Masters, i couldent try against hib classes but even zerka's went down.

With a few patchs when mezz means you cant turn at all, position styles will be effecting and blunt may become better than blades.

Well not easy to play but 1 v 1 they rock. Just learn how to play one and you can do fine
