With the funcup nearing its climax its time to voice an interest in the BWT2L. We will be looking at starting in approximately 3-4 weeks time and the more Tribes the merrier!!

To give you a rough idea we will split the teams into Divisions, depending on numbers, and the more teams the better.
It will be purely CTF, and we will ask you what maps you would like to see included in the League. Team sizes will be a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 14.

More details will be posted nearer the time and once we have an idea of numbers.

since tribes2 is much better at handling larger numbers of people than T1, perhaps the team size could be increased? I know many clans may not currently have proficient numbers yet, but only 14 players on a team will not show the true nature of T2.

my 2.5 cents :)

sorry, have you missed every other post here that mentions teams struggling to get 14?!?!?!?!? I think increasing the numbers is quite frankly daft!

14 is the standard team size as adopted by the OGL, T2 Euro Ladder etc etc etc. You have to adapt tactics for the size of the team and besides 14 is about right.

Lets be realistic, clans take a lot of management as it is and T2 has seen many merge to make up the numbers. Any competitive clan will play 2-3 games a week easy, meaning you need 14 FULLY active people at all times. So lets suppose people have real lives (hey i heard some do :)) and cant make it every night...clan size of 25 is about right to cover this and make inter-clan pracs work.

As we've already seen stated in another thread on this board, T2 is demanding enough on clans and leaders etc etc. From a personal point of view my old clan CL I led from T1 (8v8 in Europe was standard, 10v10 was standard in the US and Canada) into T2. We had to greatly increase the number of players and dont forget a good clan is about friendship - introducing large numbers of new players can cause a lot of problems. CL rose from about 20 players (large for t1) to 35 for T2 (lot of inactives, new players needed etc etc) and it was HARD WORK meaning that in the end I left and CL soon after stopped playing T2 competitively (thanks to dougle and goodguy for doing their best after I left).

I don't mean to come down hard on your post haggis m8, I'm just trying to show that what might be a "cool idea" is really a logistical nightmare. Also, for admins its hard work as it is with the "shakiness" of T2 and net connections to get 29-30 people all at once on a server ready to go (2xteams of 14 and 1-2 admins oh and maybe a shoutcaster).

28 people playing isnt exactly a small game is it ? :)

Could you imagine trying to admin a game such as on the megagame server (2 teams of 40+)? Err I'd be inactive for a lot longer if that was the norm :p

Anyway didn't mean to come down hard or anything - just trying explain from clan and admin point of view.

ive played loads of 14v14 games & have to admit i think id like the added tactical variations that 16v16 would bring

imo :p

Well, at present, as has been said before, i think that if we were to increase the team sizes to 16 (which would be great if we could) we would end up with too many uneven games of 10/12 v 16. It has been demonstrated already that there are tribes that are struggling to raise between 10 and 14 on a regular basis.

With a bit of luck once we get Season 1 under way there may be more people and Tribes that want to play which would in turn merit increasing the team sizes to 16.

We will just have to wait and see....

On that note watch out for FTD and BDX, both new UK/Euro clans with just over a dozen players each already and still recruiting, neither is doing that bad either (not wanting to blow my own trumpet :) )

Hopefully you guys will see us in the leagues very soon, instead of just fragging us on the publics.

no dont get me wrong, 14v14 is more suitable for the Euro scene....but im saying 16v16 IS better :)
