At the moment i think BW is the worst server you can find. There is never one hour where there isn't a cheat. They are everywhere.
And BW welcomes them because they want BW to be more popular. It is very rare that someone actually gets banned even with really good proof.
I think they should put admin mod to stop these stupid cheats coming on every minute of the day. Atleast with that people can kick them out.
Please reply Admins and dont make silly excuses why you cant help the situation.

They may as well have a sign. BW don't run any anti-cheat server-side stuff do they? Their policy is 'call an admin and we'll shift the bugger'

This guy has half a point but he's made it in the wrong way. It is very rare that a cheat gets banned and if they do then they just get a new WON ID.
It needs something that stops the fuckers connecting to the server in the first place or if they get on then it can kick them straight away.

A) It's not very reliable and buggers up the servers

B) They dont actually stop cheats anymore, things such as the OGC hack are unstoppable even using anti-cheat programmes.

Thought these posts had died off by now, i mean you look at some of the CS Mb's and 99% of them are about cheating, many ppl get the idea of them yet some ppl still think the need to re-emphasise the point of cheating and there view on it. Somebodies already said it but there is no sign that says 'Cheats welcome - Join server here' so thats kinda your post ruined already. Also i dont see why ppl get so worked up about cheating, its a game. So either put it in another part of the forum and moan to all your Cs chums or go back to the corner.

Okay a post that really needs to be moved to the CS forum, but here I go an reply anyway.

No BW dont use any server side solutions, thats because they have inherent instabilities. Admin mod for instance in its last version had many server crash loopholes. I know that the system admins have and are continuing to look into these solutions. Its a matter of finding one that is right for such a large group of servers, PB failed, adminmod or the valve solution ( xmas or new year) may very well be the way to go.

Admins. BW does not welcome cheats, having cheats on servers does not make BW more popular it has the opposite effect, think about it a little. The BW CS admins do ban, and a lot. Yes we get proof but that is simply because of the massive gaps in skill levels in CS. If an admin banned everytime someone reported a cheat we would ban half the good players. How can you justify banning a player and maybe ruining their reputation without proof of any sort?

Staz, if I could I would show you how many players are banned weekly. Thats not public info though, but if you really think no ones being banned you are sorely mistaken. Yes players can change won id, but thats a different matter and they get banned again eventually.

Also the BW system relies on the public just as much as the admin. THe amount of players who moan about chats yet never, ever bother to get an admin is astoundingly high. Even worse are thoose who get an admin, then run around the server shouting at the cheater that an admin has been called and they "are going to get it now".

Anyway this is turning into a rant, and i got to get to work. Bye.

Not public info? Since when did you become a member of the law or whatever and gain access to information none of us are allowed to see? Maybe I'm wrong but don't you admin out of the kindness of your heart and you do it from home, you don't go to board meetings to discuss the list do you? while I'm on the subject how the hell do you become an admin? Where do we sign up?

Does it involve having to give up your social life *snigger*
(had to get a little dig in there somewhere)

I dont belive in public blacklisting. If BW want to do it its a different matter, but personally I am against it and will not participate in it.

Admins are invite only etc, etc. The Cs admin slots are very, very full.
