You have really gotta relax SG, you can take the worst out every situation and then you would never leave the house. Manchester is absolutely no more rough than Liverpool or Stoke or in fact any where in this country. Relax matey, lifes ok if you do.

Does anyone know of a Website which gives you information on Ticket prices / Locations (From one Train Station to another)...

Call 08457 484950 and you too can hear this:

National Rail Enquiries Service, Which Station Are You Travelling From?

Pardon?

And Where Would You Like To Go?

And What Time

OK

<insert unintelligble blurb with many connections>

Yes, You Just Turn Up At The Station At 10:15 And Take That Train

Thankyou For Calling

Its exactly 160 miles from my backdoor to PG, then I just need to get from PG to the pubbeh :) (tube, cab, bike??)

As it happens, Ryanair will fly me to London and back for the pricely sum of 2p.

Add on departure taxes and that brings it up to a grand total of less than 15 quid \o/

All i need now is someone to lend me a couch for the night and im there

That journey is actually a bit of a nightmare because PG does not have a tube station.

Nearest Tube is either Southgate or Bounds Green on the Picadilly Line IIRC - both are a good 10mins car ride from PG.

Let him bike. You all know that deep down, you'd be waiting for the period of the evening where Willier and wife both donn helmet in attempt to ride home, drunk.

Relish.

I dont have a tractor, actually, thats not strictly true, we have a Little Tykes pedal thing, but I cant see me bringing that.

I think a cab ride to the tube will be in order.

Me + Drink + bike, do not mix too well.

I'll be there cos:

a) I'm never one to miss a good piss-up

b) (Un)fortunately I now know a good proportion of BW types, so I know it'll be a good night.

c) Myself and Mr_Horus can stand next to each other for a photograph, and then finally some particularly stupid people can realise we're quite distinct entities.

Seeya there!

To get an idea of numbers, so the pub landlord can get the right number of booze and barmaids, I've put a poll up here

Hello All!

Howdy. I've not been visible on this forum because of a login problem which is now resolved. Since this is nominally being organise in Luap and my name, I thought I should at least show up and lend a hand.

Right - first things first. In order to help manage all the people coming along, I've wiped clean the old barrybeer mailing list. It is now sitting there pristine and waiting for people to join for this BarryBeer. I really recommend that you sign up as it will mean that you can get notifications about any changes of plan, requests, warnings or whatever. To sign up, please send a blank email to:

BarryBeer-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

It is a managed list, which means you can unsubscribe yourself at any time - the way they all should be run.

The second thing to add is that you shouldn't get too worried about the possiblity of firemans strikes. These aren't having much effect on mainline train stations, and since the pub is eminently walkable from about 4 major terminus's, relying on the tube is not necessary for a night ont he town.

Third - it would be great if we could get a 'regional coordinator' or two to help out. These would be people who are coming down from a bit futher afield who might be able to organise parties of people who are interested, but need a bit of a push/companionship to make the journey. Any volunteers?

/me stares and Mr_Horus, Gremlin and Tank_Girl

Thats all for now - I'll be back with some things like easy to read instructions and so on.

all the best

Steiny

I will probably come, even tho it is at the gay end of london. But then I guess if you are doing the organising you have the privilege of picking somewhere that is easy for you (eh luap:]). Enough of this cynicism.
