I need to go to Glasgow to see my big sis who just dropped a sprog

I was about to buy a full out return from london to glasgow (£158.50) Some money expert suggested buying the ticket in stages so here is what i have done :D

London to Carlisle - £17.50
Carlisle to Glasgow - £6.50

Glasgow to Carlisle - £6.50
Carlisle to London - £26.00

total £56.50

And its on the same trains too so i wont have to get off!!

Hmmm £158.50 or £56.50 lol

That's cheap, I mean London to Carlise for 17quid single...

How far in advance is this tho? You use the individual train company sites and sort it like that?

Just come back from Lairg (north scotland) to London, cost about £170 quid total return. :(

Yeah month in advance normally helps. Think would've got mine for 60quid something booked that far in advance.

But normally use train cos need to travel at short notice. tbh planes seem better than that for long internal travel nowadays, unless really short notice like a 2days.

Not if you're a student. Students can go for a whole week eating nothing but belly-button fluff and pints of their own piss. Then its down to the local Ecoli kebab shop for 3 weeks' sustenance.

Going to Amsterdam next month.. We bought our plane tickets in April and we got return tickets for something like 60£?

If you pay in advance and order in time it doesn't cost a lot to travel around Europe! Dunno about the rest of the world tho..
