Got makro mail delivered yesterday.

I've been waiting for the prices in HDTV's to drop. I noticed a 32" Sony LCD TV for £299+VAT. Its not full HD ofcourse, 720p i think.

The model is KDL32L4000. Anyone got this TV? Is this a bargain or is it cheap for a reason? I've looked at reviews on the net and they all seem to be complementing on how good the TV is. I'm gonna mainly going to use it for watching movies, playing the wii and maybe a ps3 or xbox360. Got a HD DVD drive on my laptop so I can buy cheap HD-DVDs and hook the laptop up to the TV?

Thanks in advance!

It does 720p and 1080i, so it's not a full HD tv.
If I'm not mistaken that model has been around for a while so perhaps that's why it's so cheap....

There are a lot of bargains to be had, and if you look at the 37-40" range the savings are even better.

I'd look at digitaldirect and around the avforums to see what bargains are available.

That Sony you linked is a very old model.

Also, to play hd content from your laptop you will need a laptop that will output over dvi and go dvi->hdmi, or a Tv that will support 720/1080 res over VGA (which not many do).

I don't know about 32", but the 40L4000 is the same TV as the 40V4000 but built cheaper with a matt finish etc. Perhaps the same is true for 32L vs. 32V.

Are you looking at 32" for a reason other than being cheaper than the 37-42 range?

You can get a full 1080P one now from Samsung in their Rose Black range. Costs a bit tho, over 500 quid for a 32".

Nope, just because they're cheaper. The 37-42 range are £500-600+
