Rubric when we were talking about a loan being the best option i didn't think we were talking about a few hundred quid of debt. In that case, i'd never suggest a loan as being the best option, reduction in the overdraft (as you say is clearly a better option).
When it comes to 1000's of pounds a Loan really is the best way of being able to manage it.
No it's not. Freezing interest and agreeing affordable repayments based on the customer income and expenditure decleration is the best way of managing it.
And going back to the small amounts. How many times have you or anyone in your bank done as the CAB suggested and opened basic account and frozen interest and charges to stop the customer getting in a worse situation?
