Baldur's Gate Enhanced Multi-player help please

My friend and myself bought BGEE and when we try to connect onto the multiplayer, nothing happens when we type in the IP address. We have tried many things and nothing seems to work.

The only way it seems to work is if we turn our firewalls off, then and only then we seem to see each other when we type in the ip address.

Can anyone give us some clue on what or where we are going wrong?

cause your firewalls are blocking the packets it needs to connect .. really you answered your own question.

You need to go to the support forums or read the docs and find out which ports you need to leave open .. or setup the .exe etc to be let through by the firewalls then it should work.

Or look in the firewall to see if it logs blocked packets so you then know what to unblock.

It might help if you state which firewall you're both using.
