Ugh, so I'm giving up searching our local games retailers for BG2, it doesn't matter how desperate Bym is to play it, it's just not retail no more :(

eBay is even less help, with most auctioneers asking well over the odds for a copy...

So, as a final attempt at making meh lady happy I'm throwing it open to the forumites, anyone with a copy (plus manual preferrably) sitting around unused send me a PM and name a (reasonable) price - and I'll forward it her way...

gameplay.com have, it with ToB (in stock) for £19.99.
amazon.co.uk also say they have it.

and I am sure I saw a copy in my local GAME store last time I was in for less than that
(sorry to mention that name)

I love Baldurs Gate 2, so I would never sell my copy. But it's still reasonably easy to find isn't it? A 30-second search on the internet turned up BG2 + ToB for £20 in Gameplay.

If you read the post above yours you could have saved yourself 30 seconds :p

But I agree... why would anyone ever consider selling theirs away :(

I still have all my BG games (BG1 & TotSC, BG2 & ToB), including all boxes and manuals.

Nobody gets their mangy claws on them.

NOBODY!

I just id the whole saga a few weeks ago.

Used BGTuTu.
Playing Baldur's Gate one with the bg2 system was alot more fun, but a bit easy.

Was nice, visiting old favs like Tiax :)

All time classic, and still the daddy of RPG's.

Buttkicking for goodness!

I got myself hooked to BG2 again.
Installed it yesterday to have a little fun and ended up playing 6 hours.

BG2 is the best game to come out for a very long time tbh. It's just superb. :D

Hmm - I got a bit bored of BG2 after I got the woman with her wings cut off to sleep with me...

Maybe I'll replay it and see if I can get the druidess in the sack.

Yeah, BG1&2 were both great games, bit of a shame that if BG3 ever surfaces it'll just be a publisher using the name to shift copies rather than a continuation of the original story.

Anyway, if you're going to go through BG2 (again) you might want to have a look here: http://www.baldurdash.org/ especially at Dave Gaider's (senior designer on BG2:TOB) patches which add some of the things that were cut from the original release - tougher ending, more Bhaal Powers, 'proper' Demogorgan etc. Also there's a few total conversions that have been made and a couple aren't bad. http://www.teambg.net/forum/index.php?board=58;action=display;threadid=4571

They weren't cut so much as he spent an extra 3 or 4 months adding stuff. ;)

Some of the harder fights are pretty vicious btw, demogorgon is nails with the patch and the multiple dragon fight is very good. ;)

Aye, some of the fights are just insane, the battle with Yaga Shura and his beefed up army used to crash my old K6-2 regularly. As for Demogorgan... he was still turning my party into bite sized chunks when i had maxed out as a lvl 34 paladin.

For some reason I thought Gaider released the extra stuff to make up for the fact that TOB ended up 'Streets of Rage' style expansion pack instead of a fully fledged sequel. Can't remember where I read that or if its true though.

Ascension

If you have Throne of bhaal, you really should try that.

Also if you find BG2 to easy, look up the mod tactics.

I finally got it!

Unfortunately, got Planescape:Torment at just about the same time; how will I ever have time to play them both!
