bain spec

Am thinking of going 50ES 20SF on my bainshee, was wondering what other people thought compared to other specs. I like the range on the ES specs, but am not sure if that is the right way to go.

i was Es in beginning with my bain...and kinda liked that as well. You get the aoe bolt thas really nice at keep deffenses and other situasions were range is needed
Im now full SG and rest PW. That gives you the pb which is very nice in both pve and pvp, and u do have the usuall ranged single nuke along with a aoe bolt which has crap range on it. And in the rest of PW you get a nice lil mez which i used on both mobs and in rvr and saved me a couple of times...thats a pointblank mez btw.
So i would say both have its uses.

Is it just the utility of SG over ES? I noticed on VN that 49/50 SG seems to be the cookie cutter spec for now, although some did show an interest in 50ES. I thought the added range of ES would surpass SG, but then i was wondering why SG was so popular. I know it depends on your playstyle, and mine does favour open field then Tower humping.

What are the pros and cons of each, and why does everyone go for SG? Am i missing the bloody obvious, or does SG give more survivability then ES...

hehe that might be the case vodka. Thats were we play the game differently. i never cared much for names/gamemechanics etc. It stops the mobs/people from coming after me once i used it...thats good enough for me

I would say many likes the pb m8

Its pretty destructive if u get in range for using it.

i can imagine 2 nice specs: 50SG/20PW or 42PW/33SG

I dont like ES for one simple reason: you NEED the pbaoe root as a bainshee - it's really one of the best spells. Imagine every caster has to waste quickcast when he gets jumped - bainshee just spams a few uninterruptable pbaoe roots (not to mention they can't run through you).
So basically if you spec ES you need PW as secondary, which will gimp your SG single DD.

The long range aoe bolt and the aoe dd from ES are nice but the bolt wont kill anything and neither will the aoe dd (great for leeching though I have to admit).

Personally I still think 50SG/20PW is the best spec atm giving you very nice damage in different forms (single target dd, cone bolts, cone dd) as well as the 300 magic ablative (bye bye warlock and bolt caster insta kills). The cone root is also nice (600 radius frontal arc aoe root with no drop off - might be the only viable aoe cc post determination change). And ofc the uninterruptable pbaoe root
