I thought they were akin to Currys/PC World etc : i.e. both owned by a higher group (can't remember the name although its all over the news sites that reported it).
But yes, it would appear ignorant for that chap to think that Time were ever a "top supplier" or top anything for that matter. I can't imagine they listened to public opinion.

Id just about believe they are the biggest UK owned/UK only company that make PCs & Notebooks & TVs only.

"Granville Technology" was the company that owned both Time/Tiny that went bust. The Reg has a story about the resurrection though it doesnt contain anything you couldnt guess for yourself
