Oh god.
Why oh friggin' why did I get up this morning?
Yes, i know my day will probably not seem that bad to some, but for me, it was a disaster, i need to rant about it before I explode in a frustrated fit of swearing and wall headbutting.
It was meant to be the first day back at college, so I knew today was going to be a pain, but ah well, i get up early for college, go through all the usuall bull that can go wrong in the mornings - shaver low on batterys, hair sticking up, spilling tea, stepping in puddles and almost being late, forgetting my phone, chavs on the bus being annoying, etc.
All of that is normal, however, I get in to college, wait around of my mates to arrive, wait, wait, wait.... and what do you know, its 5 minutes past the beginning of the first lesson, and my teacher isnt there, my classmates are not there, and im left wondering if indeed college did start today.
I go to the staff room, collar a teacher and find out that infact college hasnt started today, oh no, it started yesterday, and then i get a grilling for missing the first day back, but it gets better, today is my DAY OFF so no one is in, and neither is my course director. the teachers cant be arsed to help me anymore, they kick me out of the room without letting me either use the staffroom phone to arrange transport home or get the new timetable.
so im sitting outside the now locked staff room wondering how it can get worse. the next bus home is the end of the day, so im stuck in college with nothing to do, so i decide to get the train home, cost be damned, im not sitting that crapheap of a college any longer than i have to!
I miss the first train back home by mere seconds, the next is an hours wait, i pay the hefty fee for a ride, then phone home on a similarly expensive payphone and arrange a lift for when i get off the train.
I'm a complete train-newb, I've taken probably 4 train rides in my entire life, one of which was when i was 5, so I'm kinda anxious anyway, but hey, what can go wrong?
so I get on the train, hoping that its the right bloody one, everyone who gets on asks me if the same question, so im left worrying if im even going the right way. it turns out its the right train, we get to my stop, as I say im a complete train noob, i wait for the doors to open, realise you need to press a button to open the bastards, but by then the train had started moving again. FUCK!!!
I sit back down, feeling like rimmer from red dwarf. it seems like the world hates me, and I begin planning to sort this mess out, as I mentioned, I forgot my phone in the morning, so I cant let the people who are coming to pick me up know whats going on, but the next stop is not far from the last one, so I dont panic, much. I keep expecting the ticket collector to come up and ask me why my ticket was to the last station, yet i am still on the train, I know i can handle it - just throw more cash at the collector and explain, but its still just one more worry.
we get to the next station and I was out of my seat instantly and hammering on the 'open door' button like a man possessed, I get out, breathe free air, and then get to the nearest pay phone to re-arrange the lift.
I'm still feeling like a prize bloody pratt about the train incident, angry at college for telling me the wrong day for college, and just generally wondering what else is going to happen before the day is out.
