My system is

* P4 3.0Ghz
* 1gb DDR RAM
* Radeon 9800 XT with latest drivers
* 1x 40gb Maxtor(c:)
* 1x 120gb Maxtor(F:)
* XP Pro with SP2

I had to reinstall windows the other week due to hard drive failure. I managed to get back most of my files. I find that I cannot install planetside at all on my system. I also find that Windows is taking increasingly longer to shut down.

So I was considering backing up all data from C: to F: reformatting c: and re-installing windows on C:

What I want to do is make sure I lose none of my emails and have a clean install of XP Pro with SP2 and be able to install Planetside. This programme has run on this system before. The only thing that has changed is the O/S and a replacement HDD. I used XP Pro with SP1. When I bought this one it was shipped with SP2. I dont really want to go through the messing about of reinstalling all my apps.

So Any advice on the above appreciated. sorry if a bit long winded or if any info is missing

Regards

Depending on which mail client you use backing up mail should be relatively easy and pain free.

You could always uninstall everything you dont need for the time being, make a ghost image of that drive (significantly smaller hopefully with everything uninstalled) and store it on the bigger drive.
