My recollections of the rumours are now frightfully vague and confused, so rather than try to recall them I'll just give you a link with the possible plot (spoilers included, sort of) [#]

It doesn't really appeal to me much more than my mindset had my believe, anyway. Its gone off on too much of a tangent from the original creative idea that was an engineered virtual reality.
