I dont know if its firefox only as i cant be arsed to try it in IE but i just stumbled across a mouse function that is the same as clicking back in your browser

If you hold your right mouse button and click the left button while holding it, it takes you back a page.

is that old news?

Doesn't work on my laptop. If you double tap the top right of the touchpad it closes the window though!

Doesn't work for me, maybe in your mouse drivers?

With my flamefox, hold left and click right(or other way) opens a whole load of options to choose...

right click your mouse in the middle of the web page, a box appears and then you can click BACK on it or FORWARD on it, etc etc, this is a normal function in windows.

I doubt it ;) If there's anything guaranted to fuck up your mouse it's the drivers that come with a Fujitsu-Siemens PC, but that's the drivers I'm running and mine does these funking things from another dimension.

oh well

I'm pretty sure the functionality comes with a Firefox Mouse Gestures extension (possibly ‘All in One Gestures’, or a different one). They're called ‘Rolling Gestures’. I think it works in Opera too.

The MX510 has similar, only they're both on one side. They also work as back/forward in windows explorer, among other things, and I use them so instinctively these days that anything else feels strange and annoying.

I have a MX700, Linux and Opera. Normal back-forward act as they should, but left+right or right+left - go newer/older thread, and if no more new threads. I get a vBulletin page with:

There are no threads newer than the previous one. Click the back button in your browser to return to it.
