Info search or research time folks!

My mrs is a little bit concerned about reports that wireless pc transmissions may be harmful, particularly given that both of our sons sit with wireless laptops on their nuts on a daily basis.

So... is it a load of balls, or should I be worried about my future grandchildren???

I await your ponderings.... :)

that's no real defense though. In fairness, many safety limits are lowered from previous "safe" levels to new "safe" levels, due to more knowledge about the system. Just because, at the moment, we believe the limit to be safe, does not mean it is.

Everything causes cancer, you can't eat anything, you can't do anything.

Don't worry about it. Frankly I'm sick and tired of someone slating something useful in a scaremongering kinda fashion. And although there will be a thousand morons going "Ooh, now I come to think of it, since I installed Wifi in my house I've had a fair few headaches". Those morons will be taken into account in this research and the fact they've probably just drank too much or thought too hard is irrelevant.

I've recently installed WiFi networking at my house (yes, tdc is slow to accept new tech as worthy) and this certainly was a slight concern Jup. However, I believe that one sits in a wash of high frequency emissions 24x7, and even thinking about a cell phone will bath you in more than enough for extras. afaict the point is moot.

that said, I bit the bullet in order to be rid of my gf's own particular set of high frequency noises regarding perfectly harmless cables strung from pootas to hubs to firewalls to cable modems :/

I believe Ben's answer is the best, I wouldn't be worried about the wifi i'd be worried about heating your nadgers for prolonged periods :)

Despite what anyone might say about high voltage electricity cables, mobile phone masts, and wifi transmissions, there is no statistical evidence of any kind whatsoever to link any of the afore-mentioned emissions to any illnesses or health problems.

So stop worrying. Wifi is harmless. You're massively more likely to die of cancer caused by poor diet, or to get run over, than you are to be harmed by radio transmissions.

Well, unless that radio transmission is a message to a hit man to kill you ;)
