No matter what server i go to these days, if one person is doing well with the awm/awp, he is constantly called a NEWB or all sorts of other bullshit names. I feel sorry for the sad people who spend their entire game bitching at someone who is just trying to play the game. Some servers have gone so far to eliminate the gun entirely from the buying menu! This is just plain outrageousness. The AWP or AWM or whatever the hell you want to call it is a certified weapon in the game, and, if you got a problem with it, go cry about it to VALVE and leave the goddamn players alone! They just play the game, they didnt make the damn thing! The way i see it, any player can use any gun they damn well want. And plus, i find it easier to kill a sniper than any other player!

I bet you are thinking: "heh, that toast, i bet he uses that gun all the time" No, i dont. I rarely use that gun even though im quite good with it. I prefer something more like the colt.

Anyhow, whenever i hear someone calling a player a AWP Noob i tell them to go fuck themselves. The fact is, the people who call others AWP newbs are actually the newbs themselves. They get tired of getting raped up the ass by someone who is using a gun that can kill them in one shot so they respond by callin other players newbies. Heh, thats fuckin pathetic!

Toasty. I agree. Even though I hate the AWP, mainly cause i am shit with it, I still do realise that it is a proper weapon.

What a lot of people DONT realise, is that being a sniper is incredibly difficult. Very slow rate of fire, and no real backup when your in a CQB. Plus, it is pretty hard to actually kill a moving target with a sniper rifle, and if someone does do that, they get called a n00b....Idiots!

You know what also sucks? When people moan about camping god it pisses me off, this is CS not Quake3 and you need to camp to guard hossies etc damn idiots. You know, Uk2 have Anti-Camper on most of their servers?? LOL You can't even guard the bomb that you have planted lmao!! And the servers that don't have it...some noobs vote it on!

I don't think people generally mind camping when it's staying in one place near the hossies/bomb/bomb sites, which is what I'd call defending, not camping. It's when people camp in places that have no real purpose in achieveing the map goals, such as CT's camping in the base towers on seige for example, that's what I find annoying.

Aye it seems some people still can't grasp alot of the objectives of the game. Although personally I hate the AWM (Can't hit shit with it :p) I have great respect for those who can use it, beacuse often a good sniper can be the difference maker in a close game. As for camping, if people still can't accept it in a game where camping certain places is vital to success, then those people don't even earn a response. Hmm UK2 have no-camping servers ?? I won't comment don't wanna spark another incident...

I agree with toast on the AWPS. But evenmore I hate people whos entire vocabulary consists of noob, especially those twats at the top of the scoreboard...go play AHL or Q3 if its frags you want loser (or just stop callin me noob).

But on the awps issue. I was playing office yesterday and nearly all t's had AWPs...!!!!...What's that all about then??? Made a complete joke of the level (not that i'm bitter about the amount of deaths dished out to me and my team)

No such thing as a noob gun if you can kill your enemies with it. Noobs are those that die, not those who do the killing with an AWP.

The biggest camper i ever saw was a guy named Kindle. He was a regular on the BW1-5 servers, and he he used to camp dynamically. We invented a new term `kindle'.

Wherever there was a rush, kindle would be at the back, wherever there was a seige, kindle would be at the back, wherever there was a fire fight, kindle would be there at the back. Hence someone who is a `kindle' is someone who allways hides behind their team mates. After a week of using the phrase, quite a few people seemed to accept it as an identifiable stytle of play, so it seemed like Kindle, and the few of us who disliked him, had created a new CS term. However it seemed to fade away again :/

If people moan about proper-camping (camping that has a reason) or anything else that can help someone win fairly, I say

"SHUT THE FOOK UP AND LEARN WHAT CS IS ABOUT!" :p

Sometimes camping is stupid, like when you see a CT on Assault, camping on the CT roof and the terrorists are guarding the hostage, time runs out and the CT's lose...

I have a vocabulary that mostly consists of only "noob", I say that if I kill someone, I even have a spray saying "N00bs Rule"

And besides, if the enemy rushes and wins alot, I go basecamping with me good ole scout.

With the slow movement speed of cs, and with amazing accuracy when still, the mayority of players can take down an average player before they have even a chance to return fire. Thats why I hate that gun.
Your beating someone, generally with ease, chances are they will save for an awm. Why, cos they know that its the gun that will possibly get them a few cheap kills. The number of times I've seen it.
Right trying not to go off on a one here. Just to say, yes, I can use that gun (and very effectively too) I choose not to. Its unbalanced, cheap and most of all DULL.

ALL of them.

If you don't like the AWM, then don't run out in front of some guy aiming it at you. It's part of the game, accept it. If lots of ppl on the nme side are using AWMs, then I just go somewhere they can't snipe me.

I must say, i have to disagree. It is only EASY for a newbie or a non-expert to get a awp kill if their opponent is standing STILL. Shooting a moving, jumping target that is returning fire is quite hard for a non-expert. Trust me, a good player can take out ANY awper ANY day, as long as they know they're there

People using an AWM takes some of the deathmatch feel out of it, it's very realistic and not just fast fighting.

Walking along, BOOOOM. Dead. Awm standing in the middle of nowhere, not with team mates, clearly out to get kills. Wonderful.
At least with the m4 or ak, if they didn't hit in the head I'd have chance to return fire, AWM chances are your dead.
Point & Click thats all the awm is. No movement, just one hand on the mouse. Dull and totally lacking in skill.

I like the AWM because of the equality factor it brings into the game...

(lol, I still call it the AWP from the beta versions)

But anyways, here's an example... last night I was horrendously drunk... playing on Aztec with Jobs and a few other regulars.

Jobs owning. Horribly.

Random n00b on our team tries to buy AWP and kill the daddy... daddy takes him out easy :) Then someone who's reasonable (who will remain anonymous) buys an AWP, takes out Jobs twice in two rounds... we win both rounds... woohoo!

I don't like it though when one team is ownzing through sheer force of AWP power... that's a bit lame and very boring. If your ownzing I believe you should start to have fun, like jump off the cliff on prod... :rolleyes:

Don't have a problem wit awm but i do have a problem with chumps that use it all the time!

Ok if other team is rushin it would be good to have one hang back and pick em off. Dunno about anyone else but i get bored so move on and find another for a swift ruck.

Using it for the whole round is pointless, esp at the end when nobody is likely to still have full health and an awm would be overkill. I've seen peeps die usin awm when they r trying to shoot someone with like 9 h. Silly fools
