fff'ing awesome stuff... just had a call back from the guy checking over my car which got smacked up the arse by a 4x4. To look at the back of the car there wasn't much visible damage. But, he told me that there was £2200 worth of damage and the car has to be written off!! THANKS!! they are offering me £2800... or £2200 and I get my car back... Pointless taking the car back as it cant be driven! Yeah cheers ARSEHOLE for going into the back of me!

I got so much crap going on at the moment.

Hhmmm not sure where to start for advice really... I keep it small :)

1. I have a curtasy car at the moment.
2. They will take it back soon!
3. I need a car due to work deliveries
4. I need a car because my landlord told us we need to move by a certain time!! awesome stuff
5. I dont know what car to get at short notice!

Can anyone give me some good constructive ideas on what car I could get which is decent and reliable for approx 2800?

Thanks in advance

You can negotiate what they offer you by the way, if you can find a few adverts, especially sold ones, for a higher value for similar metal.

First things first, check if that offer tallies with the cost of replacing it with the same spec/age/condition model. It'll almost certainly be lower, in which case you tell them to go to hell.

Or, what you have to do in reality is to collect those examples, cherry pick the best ones at the highest prices that are comparable for age/mileage and say I want <xx> much.

If it's a non-fault claim, I guess this means you're going through the 4x4 driver's insurance. Unless it's a CAT A or B, I thought you could insist on getting the car repaired to an acceptable standard, plus compensation for any loss of earnings while you were without your car, and the cost of hire cars.

Fuck the car and go on a good holiday.

Hehe would be nice :) but I need a car for work :) plus I'm self employed, so finding time to have off would be hard for me :)

My mate spent £8k on a Kia Picanto. He went to that from a Scooby and the money he saves he ridiculous no road tax 70mpg 7 year warranty. Of course if you drive for fun its not for you but it is good car for the money.

My mate recently got an RX8 in really good condition for a shade over £4k. I'm mega jealous.

Although I do laugh at his tax and insurance costs now.

You should be lolling at his face, the oil costs on rx8 are horrific.

Bit off topic, but anyone seen the new Mondeo advert? New Mondeo apparently does 900miles/tank!

They have a fucking big tank. MPG is all that matters if that's what's important to you...

That statement means nothing unless we know the amount of fuel it takes to fill the tank :)

I have a Kia Picanto. It's a good car, feels bigger than it looks for storage purposes. Feels small otherwise tho (doh) and the driving experience isn't really that expensive. But it's dirt cheap to own and the handling is really good if you drive mainly in cities :p
