With the recent shuttle accident, Hubble is not going to receive maintenance from now on. They even scrapped ideas about robot missions.

its upsetting and infuriating that will no longer maintain it. i wish the ESA was as advanced as nasa, then they could maybe send up a telescope and maintain it. seemed like we would be living in exciting times in terms of discovery, but now it doesnt look like we are gonna advance much further :(

That was a very relaxing link. It is a shame that hubble will not be maintained. Let us only hope that with the money that would have been used for maintenance missions they build an even better space telescope.

link said that in 2011 there should be a new telescope up, allthough it was launched from an Ariane 5 which is an ESA rocket isnt it?

Damnit. Now it's gonna take ages for me to find the planet of the scantily clad space vixens that force me to have constant sex to repopulate their planet in return for the secret of eternal youth.
