Help AVI to VCD

I need an easy (and free) way to do this. Suggestions on a postcard below please.

if the avi file is 650mb or below then use nero. select vcd option and drag the avi file in there. i used to do this yonks ago when my old pio dvd player only took vcds and not svcds
