Need some pointers if possible please

When i used to play avi's on my ol 17" crt monitor, the movies fitted the screen in full and clear resoloution, but i recently got a 22" wide lcd, and now if i view in full screen the picture is blurred, so i have to view at 100%, but i then get a viewing box less than half the screen

viewing websites and other stuff is fine, FH for instance fits the screen in full

I am using default windows media player with a res of 1680 x 1050 and i have a RADEON 9200 series card, which i think is part of the motherboard

Is there a better player (is there one called VLC?) or is there a setting that i am not seeing that i need to configure because of the new monitor

Or maybe the file size of the avi's (around 750-800mb) are just not big enough to cope with the larger screen?

would appreciate any help

Thanks

I would agree Media Player Classic is teh win. Also check out GOM Player, a friend of mine seems to swear by it.

Hmmmmmmmm, not a lot of difference, none if any

I think as you said nath, i will have to put up with the loss of quality because of the larger screen and res that i am viewing at

Thanks anyway, and i have a coulpe of new viewers to play around with now
