Avast question

Just installed Avast on my pc and wanted to run a Standard Scan. Archive is disabled.

How long should this take? I have a 250gb hard drive with about 60gb spare. So far it's scanned 139000 files and it's been running for 10-15 minutes.

The reason I ask is most scanners I've used take about 45-60 minutes to complete. This has been running for 10-15 minutes and it says "Current Scanner Status 2% complete".

I had a quick search online but figured it would be better to get an answer off someone here who uses it.

Takes about half an hour to do a full scan of my system drive (120gb of data)
Not too quick really hence why I've recently replaced it with MSSE.

hmm i have now scanned 300000 files and its on 9% As you can see from my original post, it's done 7% in 30 minutes.

gonna cancel the scan and do a quick one later

you have lots of really big compressed files? that can take a while.

usually take my avast to go through both my drives (500 gig total) in about 40 minutes.

I would't know to be honest My hard drive is 250gb which is kinda small. I only really have Games, Music and Vista on there. No zipped stuff etc.
