UAE is going to introduce computers into cars that will automatically enforce the driving rules and issue immediate warnings when you are speeding.

How long till we see this over here... as this will certainly rake in the cash if it was used to provide the penaties as well.

It could of been done ages ago over here but its always been too big brother for any politician or party to support, think they'll stick with more speed cameras instead.

The scheme wouldn't go ahead here, simply because it's a bad investment.

Speed cameras are reletively cheap to setup/maintain and they bring a healthy income. But, if every driver had this device in their car, they would be warned when speeding(probably a BEEEEEP!), so they slow down and avoid a fine! Within weeks, drivers will smarten up and keep an eye on their speed.

Think of the drop in revenue, currently enjoyed by the authorities... they'll never allow it :p

You'd see more blood if the same were done to Western politicians.

No doubt there would be a way to hack it though in the future, so it makes... 120mph an "acceptable" speed?

How would they keep it updated? Recall all the cars urgently and update it? Or use Satellites to do it?

Hmm...
