I may be wrong but I think the last raid by hibs even'd up the number of Alb/Hib successful relic raids (relic returned to home keep). However, I believe Albion have been on a few more 'door bashing' raids and once ended up getting the relic almost by mistake but it wasn't returned.

Don't think that was the 'tone' of Ondor's post tho and I too am happy that all 3 realms have the power to hurt each other

Because the defending realm takes quite a risk if they don't repair them before the reset.....

My point was that the "endgame" RvR has become desperately uninteresting with the weekly door resets. Game is clearly played in one week cycles now, there's no need to repair doors, and it doesn't seem likely Midgard is going to lose it's relics anytime soon because of the continuous server resets. This is just a personal opinion of course, and I'm eagerly waiting for the exciting RvR ping pong at Crauchon when Darkness Falls goes live.

I have to agree that having server resets distort what is currently the 'end game' of DAoC on a weekly basis is pretty crap.

I'm far from a computer expert but surely it wouldn't take much effort to ensure that relic doors are the same condition after a server down? I mean, they went to the effort of altering code to make repairs easier prior to 1.48 etc etc.

Ahh well, I haven't a clue to programming/coding but thats what I feel from a 'numnuts' point of view

I sent in a query about this to RightNow, and basically they told that a) weekly maintenance is mandatory b) not possible to save door states over server resets c) Mythic has acknowledged the problem and is working on it. So nothing new there...

TBH as there are only six relic keeps per server, it shouldn't be very hard to manually "fix" the doors after server downtime; unless this game is exceedingly queerly programmed, it should be possible for a GM to do this relatively quickly. And I agree that reset of the relic doors is annoying
