Assist Or not assist?

Want to hear what peps have to say about assist thats all =).

Mythic Have Long talked about longer fights in rvr.
by nerfing dmg . on 1 hell of Chars.

If they want longer fights i would say Take assist button´s away.
I loved the oldway =)

And for me who is a Mezzer/caster dont like assist =)
Who wants 5 savage in the back in 1 sec or Spear Hero =)


Ohh no the MA is dead what we attack now ? ? ? (nothing)

Hehe Dont be angry on me now for this Thread =/

longer fights=remove assist/stick and pbaoe.

Like you need a macro to assist someone...
it require just a bit of brain and see what other ppl hit and do the same,if you know what to hit it happens automatically to.

why?

ain't that hard to see who the MA is hitting.

another thing is that /assist is lagged by 0.5-1.0 sec.

taking away the /assist command will prolly make quite a few groups alot worse at assisting but i bet it wont effect the really good groups.

tho, it w/o /assist command it will be alot harder for mages to assist the tanks and will in the end be yet another nerf that hits mages harder...

useless command anyway :p slow update, need to "manually assist" if you want to perform anyway....

actually, thinking about what he said b4 you, our fights do last a considerable amount longer then against the mid groups which are over in about 1 minute. It's much much more fun playing against hib groups because you know it's an equal fight but versus mid groups you fully know they have much better tools avaliable to them.


P.S. No1 come back with the 'bad workman blames his tools' argument, cause it just doesn't cut it

Hummm true the assist trains would cease to assist on the random grps. But i would still use /target "Ma" /stick etc..

Trying to get the tanks in random grps to assist is near impossiable at times, even some to the high RR ones still dont know what MA stands for. :rolleyes:

remove assist
make attacking 1 target with most possible number of players not worth it somehow, and nerf pbae then a bit too or smth.

the all on 1 target would be already bad if just dual wield wouldnt fuck block/guard chance up :p

If the tanks in your group have regularly played as the MA in a group in the past, they'll generally go for the same target anyway... at least that's what I've noticed recently when playing with different MA's in FC groups.

So removing /assist wouldn't really make much difference to most 'hardcore' RvR players... it would have more of an impact on the 'casual' RvR players.

make 2-3 melee attackers max on a single player in RvR.

would help the stealthzerging a bit as well for the boring assist rvr :m00:

It's harder for caster grps (especially with debuffs + nukes) to assist without the /assist command than it is for melee grps.

if you suck you lose, if u suck more you lose faster....

Long fights lasts if both grps are decent or if both grps suck...

Quick fights come when one side is "better" then the other...

lots of factors can change speed of a fight...like how good the mez is an who has Purge (plus other RAs) up.

long fights usually mean ppl aint killing support propperly ;p

Ressing = Killing = long fight.

For hib maybe, since sometimes they run with 5 or so rezzing classes...

mid runs with 4 max, often 3, against good groups, its hard enough to heal without being interupted, never mind rez =/

hmm, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the perfect support setup for mid = healer healer healer shaman, and druid druid warden bard for hib, thus making them equal? And cleric cleric paladin for albion

Hib have: Bard, Warden, 2x Druids,
Mid have: Shammy, 3x healer. + PR!!!
Alb have: 2x Cleric, Friar, Pally,

Ressing is far most one of the most importants aspects, nothing beats 1 support insta ressing the fallen ones...

Hmm, Carlos, I thought you Mid healers had this useless RA called PR, but I might be incorrect. ;)

not every group runs 3 healers, tbh, most run 2..its only the organised guild grps that try to run 3.

not every healer has PR belo, its really not that good for 14 points. (Especially when you consider BoF is 10 and helps the whole group equally), and its also on a 30 min timer..and needs to be stacked for it to make half a difference...so dont start with that 3x healers = pr every 10 mins. Which would be fine if support only died once every 10 mins.
