I thought i had a knackered DVD drive (turns out it was just the lense needed cleaning) and one of the people at VCDhelp.com thought it'd be an idea to try installing ForceASPI 1.7 to remedy the drive (i might point out that im not sure what ASPI actually is). Also tried 1.8 but what im left with is ultimately fucked sounds in xp and a very long boot up time. I mean scratching (as in the vinyl sense) of the windows boot up noise and my IE noises (back etc) are knackered.

Im running XP and would really like to revert back to the way things were. Any ideas?

Did they make a system restore point before loading these ASPI drivers? If you have you could try rolling back.
