They brought out coke zero so as to have another product on the shelves to take up more space of pepsi's. I doubt there is much difference at all between zero and diet, except somehow zero tastes fucking awful.

Always drink the real coke, the diet one tastes like shit plus I always thought that normal sugar would be just as good as the artificial sugar in the diet one.

And don't tell me you guys drink the diet one for the taste, 'cause it basically tastes like water with sugar.

I doubt there is much difference in using potassium or sodium benzoate, so the sweetner is what gives it that god awful taste

i usually drink sprite zero at work as it appears the most health option available.

being maccys its only syrup added to water with CO2 added en route to the cup. im assuming because it probably isnt all that concentrated i can get away without having brain tumours etc

Well i drink "diet" or as i like to call 'em "light" drinks for two reasons:

A: The diabetic thing. It's a health issue
B: The taste. AS i've always drank them, my tastebuds can't take the gooey syrup sugar overdose of the "real" ones. It just tastes better to me.

Diet Coke adverts from the 1990's had women in the office ogling at a man without his shirt, although the adverts in recent years had a tortoise to promote the brand. Coke Zero is aimed more at young men, something quite similar to Pepsi Max.

Well actually i DID taste some when i was a kid, never did taste the same.

And i eat sugar 'n sh*t so it's not my "immune system" doing it.

Well, i wouldn't call diet coke any more/less unhealthy as any other drink out there with brown as colour.

Pepsi max, pepsi, coke, coke light...it's basicly a taste difference.

One of the problems also associated with this is blindless and some cancers :/ Bad stuff... don't eat Diet Coke, normal Coke is actually better for you.

Aye my brother is a doctor doing cancer reseach in Edinburgh, he warned me many times during my diet coke addiction that a number of the ingrediants have been linked to various cancers. The problem is that no one is funding research into the effects of these chemicals in drinks over long periods of time because the revenue generated by the sale of this stuff is worth billions of pounds every year. Goverments won't fund the research because they want the massive international corperations money to finance thier political campaigns and it is against thier interests to upset these people, it is also a nice convienent form of population control. Charities won't fund the research because they have more pressing research into actually treating cancer and developing earlier detection systems. That leaves drug companies and they aren't interested because they are heavily involved with the chemical industry which makes these damn chemicals in the first place and has gotten rich off the sales of these drinks over the years.

The truth is that the only people who really want to know how dangerous these drinks are is a small percentage of the general public, everyone else lives day to day and don't think about the problems they may face 10-20 years down the line because of drinking this shit.
