So here it is... I work in a pretty stressful environment and ususally by the time I leave work the bus ride home is lovely and peaceful.

This evening I get on the bus I notice a baby screaming... "oh joy" I thought they won't be on too long as I am usually the only person who does the entire busride (as it takes 15 mins from the centre of Tilburg to Breda but I work on the outskirts so the bus is quicker)... but no, the fucking spawn of the devil screamed for an hour...

By the time I got off the bus I was about ready to kill it.. so I found a chemist in the train station and bought some PK's something I rarely do..

Without offending anyone I really think that small babies, screaming school children, pissheads and chavs should not be allowed on buses specifically at times when people are travelling in and out of work..

*goes of to take a large dose of Advil*

Screaming babies I don't mind so much, so long as it isn't the parents stupid fault they're screaming... not a lot you can do when you're out and your kid starts screaming sadly.

I do sympathise with you though :(.

Nothing compares with the cleanliness of seats on Dutch trains... a bit like the toilets...

In retrospect I can almost understand the need to crap on the seat on a Dutch train once the toilets have been experienced..

I will have to agree

In fact, why the fuck do people pay £17 (In Leeds) a week to travel on a piss smelling tramp train? No wonder people fucking drive. Buses are rammed full of wankers and screaming kids, they never come on time and are in poor repair.

So what are the government doing to get cars off the road?

FUCK ALL

I'll do my bit. For that authentic public transport feel, I'll cart anyone around Northamptonshire to their destination for the same price as a bus and I'll even piss on the seat for you beforehand!

And TdC if you did create that then just EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW....

However after looking at it for the duration of my journey home I was unable to make out what it was...

ah poor Laura.
Though saying that the Dutch busses are way better then the ones in Dublin.

Almost the same but you have to wait an hour before the bus arrives, only to see 3 others on the same route behind it.

Oh and offcourse the empty beer cans/bottles laying on the floor

Frankly I think you are seriously selfish , yoni, and you are talking shite.

Did you never scream on the bus/train/plane/other public area when you were a baby? Of course you did (dont lie).

Obviously screaming babies are not pleasant, but babies DO cry. Would you rather have the stressed mother of a very young child forced to wait for a "second grade" bus so you "more important" people can have some peace and quiet? Should she fuck.

If anything, your needs are secondary to hers - you are simply doing a job for a firm, shes raising future bambinos to rule the world or whatever.

Stop your moaning, buy some headphones or spend some money and get a car.

Chilly wins.

If it was that annoying you could have got off and waited for the next one?

Plus I like the way you only give a shit about people travelling to/from work, as you don't travel any other time. "Selfish?" Yes.

This quote from Mrs T seems appropriate ;p

"Anybody seen in a bus over the age of 30 has been a failure in life"

If you get stuck on public transport with a screaming child you can cheer yourself up with the thought that its not yours and you wont have to put up with it 24x7 for years to come :)

Christ, Chilly - what's gotten into your guts of late? Calm down :D
Nowt wrong with a good ol' moan, helps to let these things out when you have to otherwise bottle them up :)
I still groan and moan about (well, everything really) babies screaming in my ear, and having one of my own doing it even closer and louder doesn't improve the situation ;)

Mind you, on which note I've often thought about using my baby's cry as a ringtone to make sure I hear it :D

While I can utterly sympathise with the awfulness of the screaming, certainly for a prolonged time, you have to spare a thought for the mother. Either she's deaf, which is sad, or she's possibly about to kill her own child out of frustration.
I personally find loud raucous school kids on the bus more irritating!

I have no less than three colleagues doing that. It is my secret fantasy to torture them to death slowly. Or perhaps next time they "forget" their phones on their desks while at an afternoon meeting to simply throw their phones away. Though I'm more for the torture thing atm tbh.

I use public transport daily, I know exactly the situation. However, I dont moan cos I know its just the way the world works. Babies cry, feet smell of cheese and teeds, statistically speaking, will make a tit of himself on at least a monthly basis.

C'est la vie!

too many parents though think the best idea is to ignore the child in order to make the kid shut up. That aint a good thing, cause either the kid has a problem and needs attention or needs a smack on the bottom to make it cry for a reason.

Sometimes the best thing to do IS to ignore the child. Pandering to every cry is a recipe for disaster.

It's modern societies fault really.

We have this inherit, dna, natural instinct from back in the day, where another tribes baby was a threat.

Damn society banned killing them so...

Annoying, very, and if the screaming goes on for over 10 seconds, they better have some illness or bad parenting badge goes up.
