Army BARB test tomorow - any tips?

Hey all

I have my army BARB test tomorow, and I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or anything for taking it? I've got the booklet they give you about it with sample questions and stuff, but any help would be much appreciated

I'm not as anxious about it as I thought I would be tbh, kinda taking a different approach to this application - if I get a good score then great, if not then still, not really worried either way

tbh mate its easy stuff. Basic general knowledge no where near as tough as GSCE etc

if you half smart you'll be ok

What's a BARB test? =))

In Germany they test you before they decide if they take you or not...so if it's a test like that: Lots of coffee, no sleep and they'll never take you, haha ^^ Oh yer and take some dehydration pills to reduce your weight temporary to a ridiculously low value =)

did it when i was younger, my dad wanted me to go in the army (family tradition crap) very easy, think its just to test that you aren't a complete fuckwit rather than see how intelligent you are.

Just got back, seems I got "61" - I thought it was out of 60 so I was kinda pleased

I dont know how good or bad the score is, but the recruitment guy said "who'se a clever boy then?" so I guess its not all that bad

Looking through jobs - not certain about any yet, had my eye on the Para's for a while but I'm not certain that I'll beable to get fit enough, I was glad to see that job come up on my list of choices though! There were a few other jobs in there like army air corps ground crew which could be interesting, but I'm not really sure if I would want to do that for the rest of my life: seeing other people fly off while I'm fixing them would be a bit of a headache i think

So I guess I'm getting there, need to sort my medical out now and then i'm back for the interview - I think I might take a month or two out though before going too much further - I really want to see what I want to do.

I was so pissed off about that last night, I hit the john smiths after that match and got myself hammered, woke up this morning a tad hungover

god that was annoying!

guess it depends how long you want to be in, my dad was in the para's for 22 years, my granddad about the same, my granddad left and became an engineer, my dad couldn't give up the army so went on to run a TA depot as a civilian.

Something like the Royal Engineers would be good if you only want to go in for a fairly short period of time, get plenty of opportunity to learn a decent trade for when you come out. The Para's are really hardcore, though you get to do a hell of a lot of stuff and you really do get to see the world (and not always having to blow it up or shoot at it) my dad really wanted me to go in but is wasn't me, far to happy being a civilian
