Armsman Template Request

Yeah yeah strange request but i was wondering if anyone can help :p. It's for a hybrid thrust armsman, so the loss of stats between pole and s/s can be replaced by crafted s/s if needed.

I'm looking for a template with the following;

It must use and/or include

Fallen Soldier's Rage - Polearm - 24 Strength, 4 Polearm, 9% Body, 9% Matter.

25/6 Strength Overcap

Str, Dex, Con, Quick Capped.

Resists as close to cap as possible.

Some % of melee speed bonus

It may use or include, if possible

Con/Hits overcap

Capped melee speed bonus

Melee damage/Style damage bonus

I would like to avoid using

Any rare/expensive artis/items where possible. This does not include SoM/Cb ;)

I've experimented with various Armsman specs and I'm wondering why you chose hybrid with Polearm over hybrid with 2-h?

5.9 speed pole = sick. Combine that with 10% melee speed (hopefully :D), 250 quick, theu haste, you're talking about swinging very quickly, very harshly ;)

orrr go no quickness in template and have HUUUUUGE hits

but you kinda always need to run with a theurg or else you can go drink a coffee between swings

No quickness is totally stupid even for pole/2h user though, vermin in guild had 228 quickness+theurg haste and could hit mid chain 700s sometimes without crits.By the way vlad fuck dragon pole try get a ml 5.8 celerity pole, you'll hit 1.7s with theurg haste or it's 1.6s.

Lower per hit yes but not by much, i have tested base quickness inside out and capped, i can tell you capped is around 20-30% more damage over time AND with celerity/haste you get around 20% more damage overtime but using a slow delay weapon your damage will be stupidly high.(if you swinging a 5.8 pole at around 5s expect about 150dps or so, if you swing that pole around 1.6s expect about 240-250dps, these aren't exact numbers but that's roughly how much difference it will be.)

Oh and also fumble on 2h/pole with base quickness= do not mind if i fly to hong kong and back whilst i wait for next swing. xD

As nice as all this is, i need a damn template! :p. Now using a celerity pole, stats of 16 con/quick, 2 all melee, 3 str cap. Also would like to use Eirene's.

Somebody help me :mad:

If you had my 5.9 Spd MP 2hand slasher with celerity proc (rog drop from Erinys boss) I found last night you would reconsider ;d

Sycho get on msn and make me a 2hand template for this celerity 2hander weap ;d you now u rock at it :D

I calculated a attack speed of 1.7 sec with 8% toa haste theurg haste+weapon proccing and 250 qui.

The thing about slow weapons:
All (same-lvl-qua etc..) weapons are marked as doing the same damage per second (16.5 for a lvl 50 weapon) slow, or fast. Slower weapons do more damage per hit (duh) but they actually also do more damage over time because they get a slight extra bonus in Mythic's formula.

The slower the speed (higher number) the bigger the bonus.
"This slow weapon bonus modifies the overall damage cap of the weapon by what appears to be .3% for each .1SPD over 2.0SPD. In other words, a 5.0SPD weapon receives a 9% damage bonus over a 2.0SPD weapon."
I have tested that. It's true.

Found this in a recent grab bag, see if it helps clear up the Quickness stuff;

"Q: I have heard a lot of questions and speculation about the Quickness stat, so was wondering if I could get a true answer in the Grab Bag?

We know that the higher your Quickness is, the faster your swing speed is. However, does this reduce "frontload" damage? If so, could you give us a good explanation on how this works? Also, do Realm Abilities such as "Mastery of Arms" and ToA bonuses to melee speed do the same?

A: I went to the Code Warrior for the answer to this one. ”If I understand "frontload" damage correctly, he's asking about the correlation between DPS and actual speed - slow weapons hitting slower but for more damage. Quickness does affect this; it can reduce the weapon's speed by up to 40%, and any Quickness over 250 has no effect. Mastery of Arms and TOA bonuses also reduce weapon speed by what's listed in their delve.

“Increasing your Quickness decreases your swing time - style damage, however, is based on your swing time. Therefore by decreasing your swing time, you also decrease your style damage, thus reducing frontloading. Over time, increasing your swing speed adds more damage because the non-style damage comes faster while the style damage remains the same, however each individual hit will do less damage.”

Well tbh I had pure 50slash 50pole spec and savaged any caster-type people. Then I went 50thrust 50pole and savaged anything which was caster-type/pretty much anything else. Of course this is if you have a chance to get near the Op'd caster [bring back DAoC-tanks >.<]. Then I realised Armsman are gimps and made a cabalist and made it 39Slash 42Parry 50Shield and its shocking how many stealthers will jump a heavy-tank and believe they can win even when I'm RR4 and have IP2, still haven't tried hybrid. However, Hybrid appears to be the best for overall RvR IME and having spoken to Hybrid-2H spec'd friends. Polearm Hybrid will be challenging IMO, have to agree with the fumble comment you could travel the world in a hot-air balloon before you swing again and a miss generally equates to horrible death. Man Beer makes me type a lot :cheers: GL with Armsman m8ty I ain't making a template for you.
