Yeah YEah ill wait for all the peeps saying why bother gimp, but honest constructive opinions please.

slash 50, pole 34, shield 42, rest parry(20)

primary s/sh with polearm back up if not ma or non aggro in PvE.

using battler as 1hs and malice as pole...

not expecting to solo, even thought may do, mainly grp rvr or allaince grps...

aiming for good defence with decent offence if needed.

No offence intended mate honestly, but you do not make a Pole Arms for defence, you make a Pole Arms for damage.

If you're mainly running in groups then why not consider:

50 Pole
39 Dmg Type
42 Parry
6 Shield (Enough for Engage? Can't recall OTTOMH)

I know Pole has a Parry reactionary, so it ought to be worth considering?

I am sure vastly more experianced Arms players can advise though, but something to think about ;)

probably do more damage with 50 slash than with the 34 pole...

(hmm 8% more style damage vs 16% 2h bonus - actually you might do more...)

typical hybrid spec tends to be 50 pole 39 weapon 42 shield or you could go 50 pole 34 weapon 42 shield 20 parry and have some defence when yer pole-ing.

as Flim said or full pole/2H and effective 50/51 dmg type for max dmg output (eg 37+13 at rr3) rest in parry, dropping dmg type a few pts wont hurt too much btw if u like a bit xtra parry when u have pole/2h out

Was told off for thinking that as well, apparently it's the general belief that you need 51 effective spec and not 50 for max base damage (so 38+13 at rr3) Dunno tho, just letting you know that the ppl who are wiser than me think so :p

To answer your question, I use 50 pole, 51 effective crush, 42 parry myself, and I love it... very nice with the parry rate, especially if you have a nice proc on your pole.. it has a chance of going off when you're parrying as well as when you are hitting :D
