Any advice form the Armsman players, if any left?

Dashing defense seems a nice RA, against Mid savage groups. (Parry + Block for all group members for 5 - 15 - 30 secs).

Anyone got any advice?

thx for any usefull answers in advance.

Dashing defense would be sweet...if anyone actually bothered doing full group vs full group anymore.

Do you ever actually see savage gank groups anymore? They might be one hidden in the enemy zerg somewhere I admit but I doubt it, heck they werent even that many tank groups left pre-NF.

It sounds nice on paper but I doubt you'll find many chances to get full use out of it for the cost.

Personally I test both full det and purge now and sadly I think purge is the better option, Det is just to heavily nerfed to be worthwhile, personally I went with purge 2, IP2 (for trying to solo still) and a selection of passives.

The new RA system encourages all or nothing behaviour, getting level 1 of anything is a waste usually.

The only thing i'd reccomend for sure is Purge 2, after that theres no perfect solution, but high avoidance of magic, soldiers barricade and good passives are all worth consideration.

Firstly I wouldnt recommend Dashing defence. As kagato say's not only would you not use it regularly anyway as there simply arent alot of savage groups about but if you play in a melee orientated group then you'll most likely be off /assisting the MA and therefore wont be within 1000 radius to defend your group mate's. Most tank's dont charge in these days either heh :p

Purge 2 should be your first selection as its your get out of jail free card :>.

If you play alot in set/ friends group then soldiers barricade would be a worthwhile investment but unless taking to lvl 3 you will be quite disappointed by this RA really : /.

If your a solo'er then those points are best dumped into IP and then passives to help your solo performances ;>.

So lets assume rr6 and grp play only pretty much:
Purge2
Soldiers barricade 2 < with intention to go 3>
Aug Str 3
AoM 3

Gives you a nice dmg boost with Aug Str and much needed resist boost so casters wont sting as much. Also very nice for reducing assasin's damage who tend to use alot of heat lgw's. Bearing in mind to respec your ra's to SB 3 when you can afford to get some of those passives back.

If you tend to Solo mostly or prefer to do small group action mostly:

Purge 2
IP2
Aug Str 3
MoPain 3

Increase your life expectancy and shorten your enemys with all that added Str and Critting Goodness :>.

There just suggestions and not necessarily the only way to spec your RA's hope it helped some :).

Dashing defence only works for people in front of you - not the "radius" that's in decription. Given the short duration of it too not worth the cost really. Det aint really worth it now with the nerf. SoB2+, AoM3+, Purge 2, Empty Mind (even at 1 it's nice for the cost), Aug Str 2+, MoPain 2+ (if offensive) and possibly still IP are all worth the investment. MoB aint really worth it either these days given bg, unless you are totally defence orientated. Gear your RAs according to your spec, groups you play with and realm level :)

All said above is correct but i like to mention one more RA that is very useful at least for me as an ofensive tank, Second wind lv1 (5pts).

Omg i only start using this ra in NF and now i cant leave without it, its great for fights, its great to chase someone or to escape and only for 5pts.

If you have the points spend on this one as for the rest, ip2,purge2,mop,avoid magic, aug str.

Hmm, with some note of sarcasm:
I haven't even got my arms to the trainer to get any ras after NF. He is a resident of housing zones for almost a year now :(

Sounds fair, however though not as perfect as second wind, i'd rather just use potions to be honest and use the RA's for things that potions cannot help with.

Personally with Tireless now and my MA's, I very rarely run out of endurance so I don't use a fraction as many End pots as I used to in RvR regardless. I think second wind is a touch expensive even at level 1 for what it does.

At 6L4 got Mopain3 Augstr3 IP2 Purge2 waiting for the next lvl to get second wind1, and y i kinda agree with wild, one ex: sprint after a caster, use ip, use second wind, slam him, and hes dead =)

btw its good to be back :D
