I'll almost certainly be getting it. I do want to get a few more reliable sources on how it performs on mid-range systems first though.

im tempted, but as nath said.. depends on performance

dont care how good it is, if i have to play it in 640x480 in monochrome to get decent FPS i wont bother :)

and thats probably a tad optimistic aswell.

/edit: the optimal is probably just to use the almost ok visual settings and the minimal is just to get it to start :)

i mean, i've had a 8800GT and i can with a certain ammount of confidence say that if you have that card, forget anything that makes the game look better in the grafic settings or you'l be in for one hell of a slideshow.

So what are we talking to be able to run it nicely?

concidering how the grafic looks on that video my uneducated guess would be a monster PC :p

but i can probably safely say that a 8800GT wont cut it at all.

I've read of people who have that card and say it does ok on medium settings and still looks very good.

have they fought in any big battles or just ran around shooting random stuff on smaller maps?

i wanna know what happens when tanks and airplanes and stuff start to blow up left and right, coupled with any potential artillery barages/missile impacts etc :)

i mean, i could run around in AoC with everything on max with my 8800gt and do "ok" but as soon as something interesting happened it started to slideshow.

Well that's a valid question, although as far as I know there are no smaller maps - it's one giant 250 square km island.

I suspect the word uneducated says it all here.

I wasnt talking about the spelling, I was talking about the "it won't work Im telling you right now" posts when you have no more idea than the rest of us, and the optimal specs actually state an 8800GT, yet you insist on telling us all it will run like a slideshow!

I still have an 8800GTS in my pc, it runs CoD4 on max at 1680x1050 and cod5 on max too but you're telling us all it won't run Arma2 at all, apparently...

The fact it is out already in some regions, and people are playing it on 8800gt's should also stop you making wild assumptions.....

I have a 3870x2 so i'm guessing that should cut it on medium.

In fact, the latest update from BIS is here.

The post from the BIS community manager said:

No new news on the demo yet, other than to tell you, if it's not today, it's most likely tomorrow, if not tomorrow, it's most likely the day after, you get the point ;)
That's a real help isn't it? Doh.

Yeah I guess. I could understand why BIS want to hold-off releasing the demo as if it needs to be patched to buggery then they don't want a bad demo affecting their sales.

However, as a consumer I wouldn't mind having the demo released before the game is available in the shops (Friday 19th). Simply because I'm impatient and want to know whether to buy the game or not.

I went on their forums and alot of people are struggling to run the damn thing (even though they have recomended specs). Someone had an i7 proccessor and was struggling, however I don't know if the game does not have much support for the new cpu's.

The game came out early in Germany for some reason, the official release date is the 30th and this will include the few patches which the German release players have had to download.

For me I will try the demo and decide from there. I really hope this is not too hard to run as I don't want to play in monochrome either lol
