88.9 also.

Never had any musical training so I'm quite surprised I'm in the 93rd percentile :)

That's with musical training, and I sing, play guitar, drums and piano. Also played in a band for 10 years and write music.

I think that test officially proves fuck all about tone deafness and is ... shite.

I seem to recall tests for musical ability / tone deafness were two tones that were played back to back with a small space and you had to tell if it was higher / lower or the same.

If anything, it's a memory test. That should be called the "spot the difference between two shite atonal synth drum beats". ;)

First try about 70-75%.

Second try 100% wrong.

Third try 100% correct. =)

G, its not indicating that you can't sing or can;t play, all its doing is seeing if you can detect subtle nuances - and depending on your surroundings, state of ur brain at the time, what else you're thinking about etc etc, you're going to get very different scores, as demonstrated!
I got 77% correct, which I'm happy with.
The musical notes played back to back test is a HEARING test, not a test to see how tone aware you are - big difference. The reason they play you a higher and lower note is to test ur ranges of hearing.

its more of a memory thing that a tone thing - the ones with 4 or 5 notes were easy to tell apart, the ones where it plays a full melody is impossible to remember the tones.

Not impossible, just easier for some than others, and I think thats the gist of the test.

Just trying to tell if the two clips of music are different or not.

75% for me, about what I'd expect really. I'm not tone deaf, but I'm not musically talented either :(

Maybe I was tired after work, but I got something in the 60 -70 % range.

I have Grade 8 Theory of Music, Grade 8 Trumpet, I can play several instruments, I have played in orchestras and bands to a significant level and sung in many many choirs.... either I'm shit or the test isn't valid ??? :p

Considering the state my short term memory's in, I'm pretty chuffed with 72.2 percent. I can't seem to recall what test that was in though......
