Are 'You' That Desperate for RPs?

The 'You' refering to a certain Firbold Warden, names corzo or something of the sort.

Are you, that desperate for RPs that you couldn't fight me one vs one?

The story goes as I (Opoc lvl 21 Friar at the time) Was stood on Hib Bridge to the centre keep. I saw a Firbolg sttod there on his own, I knew he was a warden and he was orange con to me. I /beckon him a few times becuase I wanted a fair one vs one to see how I faired. When he didnt move much I knew something was up. Thats when i understood the fact he had one or more friends. My conclusion came as it was probably a lvl 24 shade stood infront of him. I walked closer and he didn't do much so then I knew. So I thought what the hell i'l go anyway and sure enough a Lurikeen lvl 24 nightshade BS2 chained me and the warden hit me too. After the fight they resumed position to do it to someone else.

Now i'm not saying you cant do this but say if that was me, I would tell the shade to move out and let me have a one vs one. It would have been fun. I am lower lvl than you and we are the same style of class so why wouldnt you dare fight me alone?

No its not against the rules and I wont even say for you to stop but would advise you to have the decency to do so. Thats the only real thing I HATE about Thidranki, Nobody dares have a one vs one, at all, near enough.

Keep it in mind next time, I have no respect for you but I don't condemn you as a "Lamer" or anything as it is a normal thing someone can do and apperently does. Shame you can't fight decently.

lol

Why would a warden (who can res) who is clearly in a gank squad (duo?) with an NS want to duel you ? If they die, the NS is stranded.

I have a simple reply to anyone who /beckons me in Thidranki for a duel. Its called Great Holy Rage and smites their ass for about 150dmg :)

They fought cleverly and decently in my book. Duelling isn't decent, its lame. You got owned. End of.

Er.. why is having a one-on-one lame? Seems like a reasonable thing to want to try... If you get owned u get owned... You'll know not to do it again. With this in mind, you could, however, turn and run off everytime u see a possible solo enemy.... thing is, that would be a bit lame..

Ok, let me rephrase that. I think duelling is lame. This aint 1v1 deathmatch, it's a team game. The Hibs just happened to show more teamwork and more intelligence than the Alb. Really if all you want to do is duel, then hang around IRC and organise duels in the frontiers or something. Plenty happen. The BGs have their problems with the RP system deterring ppl grouping, and the last thing I want to see in the BGS is f**king duelling.

If I ever see duels I always wade in there and try to kill the enemy. I know the duellers don't like it, but I don't care. If I see the enemy, I don't wave, kiss, beckon or stand around clapping. I try to kill them.

Not a flame but all he wanted to do was see if he could kill this orange firby infront of him.. not like he wanted to start a deulling session is it:rolleyes:

Hmmm... let me speculate. Maybe the firbolg didn't want to duel you because:

a) he didn't have to.
b) the hibs had the odds in their favour for once and didn't want to pass on the opportunity.
c) the 2fg+ alb zerg that ran over them earlier and camped their TK didn't want to duel, so why would he?
d) he confused the /beckoning with the usual alb emote spamming.
e) he had never seen you solo up to that point and therefore made the reasonable assumption that there was the usual stealther band around.
f) they both thought you looked tasty, tossed a coin and the NS won.
g) he found the prospect of getting named and flamed on the board amusing.

Don't worry. Whatever his reasons, I'm sure they were good ones.

I've had more than the odd one-on-one encounter with opposing stealthers. I never figured that I was duelling but simply engaging the enemy, not for rp's or kudos but because they are the enemy... Maybe the correct procedure would be to run back to the alb forces spam /y Stealther and then zerg him... seems a bit long winded really :p

bah, just roll a minstrel if you want 1v1's, they can kill pretty much any shadowblade you they come across, thing is that to the shadowblade you look tastey :) an easy kill they foolishly think, so you get as many 1v1's as you can handle :D

oh mezz too, nothing like mezz for convincing someone to fight you :p they CAN'T get away.

i have 1v1's all the time in thid, BUT, none have been organised exept one skald where we sort of had it happen on the spot, i beckoned him etc... because i was curious about whether i could beat him, we went into the woods and proceeded to whack each other, i won :)

but my usual 1v1's are shadowblades who attack me because i specifically put myself into the position where they want too, because i love killing them each time :D lots of fun.

but if that skald had brought friends (as happened once, i challenged a shadowblade who'd been killing us for a bit too long, he responded to my beckon with a cheer, then while fighting i "found" his five other shadowblade mates :D) i think it's a bit lame IF it's an obvious duel, BUT, since i sort of expect it to happen i'm not bothered, up to them if they want too, if i dont want to be in that position, then i dont duel them, simple, but if i do want to duel them then i take that risk willingly.

i think it was probably that the hibbies jsut saw that for once they outnumbered an alb!!!!:eek6: and just sort of went a bit wobbly :p

btw, that's the firby i mezzed, blew a kiss too then left one night while soloing (she was also solo) because it was one of the only hibs i'd seen that night, just couldnt bring myself to kill her :p not so soon after she'd left hpk :)

Well its not dueling I want, dueling is to organise it with people of the samel level and such. I just wanted that one vs one off chance of meeting someone and fighting to the death :)

Also all the one vs ones i get are with shades or sbs, shame sbs usually get owned by my uberstick, shades run aay too much :)

hehe friars are scary, was busy killing albs with my ranger on excal, see a solo caster (yep almost died from pleasure :)) so i shoot, well he's running so it cancels the crit, but rather than doing the normal thing and either running or casting, the guy charges up to me and hits me for FAR too much damage! :)

that was when i realised i'd mistaken the class. was a friar i realised, not a caster :) meelee class + heals = baaaaaaddd!

As a Friar I reall hate Rangers in BG, they hurt so much. Hunters arent so bad becuase they don't hit so hard. Especially that dwarf hunter, ran at him and he shot me once and he died in a few hits of my staff, was fun.

bah

Duels are not lame, its great fun in the middle of the night when all ppl in thidranki log and only a few are left to fight. Had a few duels with Roq (troll) a couple of nights ago, it IS fun and NOT lame.
