Are you scared of life...?

Thought occured to me when watching the news re: the scumbag who kidnapped a 6 y/o from her bathroom before raping her.

Are you scared of life? Are there things in life that scare you shitless? I'm not talking fear of heights but things relating to general life.

For example, I am absoluotely petrified of my gf/family being hurt. I never let my sister run off on her own or what have you because I dread to think of the people in this world which would take advantage of such a situation.

You could say i'm scared of the people in the world, and the people that get to live, even though they shouldn't.

Probably one of the reasons which urges me to get good A-levels etc. and move to a place where it is nice and as un-dangerous as possible.

What's your views on this?

Are you scared of life in general? Are there certain things, relating to life, that send a shiver down your spine?

I'd like people's own opinions on it, so I can realise if i'm just a very sensitive bloke or whether others feel the same.

there arent any safe places anywhere, just less unsafe.

I do worry about the way society is going, however i do not let it control my life, i dont think anyone should...if its going to happen its going to happen, no point worrying about it.

No, I am not scared of life. I'm not scared of dying either. I am not looking forward to the day my parents will die, but I'm not scared of that either. Scared is the wrong word.

So them dieing through an act of murder (only used as an example) does not scare you?

I agree with Lamp - more concerned with people around me personally than myself.

I never worry about anything until it happens - I have always lived for the moment and can never see the point about worrying about stuff that may never happen.

What you are saying yeah of course goes through my mind but doesnt bother me as such simply because I cannot at this time predict how I would feel etc so why try.

~edit~

As for that scumbag though - perfect fookin reason for the death penalty being brought back - and not in a quick manner either - talking about skinning/dipping in vinegar/maybe simmer in very hot water followed by a brutal kicking attended by highly trained medics to bring the toerag back to life just so you can give him another hoofing...

have to agree with the fact that i never really contemplated it before but there have been a number of times where ive left my house in a sprint cause my little brother seemed to get into alot of fights, the last 1 i remember 3 of them me, and another threatend to knife me, which tbh made me laugh, although most ppl probally wouldn't.

Yes me too, I do not fear much about my own life because "its just me" anyway, but I would not be able to absorb the mental punishment if something ever happend to my family

in fact, some of the worst dreams i had are that i am more or less immortal but those i love are not and are endagered by something i cannot stop :(

I can second this more or less, dough it would bother me less if my father died then my mother as I havent seen that mutch of him since -77.

Sure, I would be devistated if something hapend to my son, but I dont let that get to me before it happend (IF it does at all).

Fear, freazes you up, takes away your freedom, as you will become an hostage of it. Fear for something just imaginated (and that is what it are before it becomes a reality) is non-productive, a waste of time and strength.

I have been close to beeing muged, assaulted ect, but have always been abel to walk out of it with out a scratch, mostly becose (I suspect) that I can talk for me and not act scared. I have even stept in between some young thugs about to kick the shit out of a drunk guy, an becose I did, somemore whent in and stood in there way. Fear is paralizing, fear is the first step for things to go from bad to worse.

nope, i dont fear life, basically the same of everyone else has said, because there is NO reason at all of worrying untill it atually happens ( if it does that is). I do not care about my life in this way, but only my family/friends/GF, and like some one said earlyer, its like in a dream, u are kinda "immortal" if some one is threating a loved one / friend or something, because nothing can stop you if the person means that much to you.

If you fear life ffs stop the drugs it fooks your head up:(

totally agree. but.. here's a weird one for u (and i know most of it self inflicted yeah)

even before i went on a 2 year+ bender of booze and e's.. i'd get anxiety attacks. they've steadily progressed since then. sometimes i get an itch on my head and think im gonna die.. its so bloody stupid but its real to me.

its like when someone says.. dont think about elephants.. what do u think of?

i cant watch anything medical on tv coz that triggers me off, i cant be bored and do nothing or else i start to think of stuff that might go wrong. but that part is (im fairly sure) due to the e usage.

im scared of life coz it puts me thru hell, but i dont wanna die.. only reason im able to talk about it now is coz i've had a few cans. if i'd seen this topic after waking i'd be a basket case.

wouldnt care tho.. i got sod all to worry about, it's when i DO have thngs on my mind im better, takes my mind off the paranoid shite.

anyhoo back on topic: cut his nuts off. ilive in NE england and that scumsucker should never have so much as a smile for the rest of his life.
make prison a punishment and peeps like him might have a deterrant, but as it stands.. its just a yellow card.

I wonder if the only thing a lot of people are scared of is looking bad on FH :p

Its not silly to be scared of anything, I'm still afraid of the dark ^^ Still go out in it though, real courage isn't being fearless its overcoming that fear. Cliché but I think its true, just doing stuff you find easy is being afraid.

In my opinion if you walk around constantly scared of what might happen, then you probably need to talk to someone about it.

I am thinking daily about my dad dieing from lung cancer and my brother from being very fat.

Not the thing in the world I wouldnt do to help them... I would put myself in their place just so I avoid experience them die.
Call me selfish but I can't handle loosing either of them - would rip my world apart.
I am not scared of dieing myself but scared about loosing the people that mean the most to me.

Sometimes I dream away to a better place... But it seems so far away.

Nada, nothing, zip and bubgus...bupkus...anyway.

Not even my family and friends getting hurt. Them first damnit.

"Oh noes! He doesn't want to die before his parents do!"

No. Ofcourse not you dimwit! Rule number 1: Keep yourself safe and alive as long as possible. Rule 2: All people have this rule, stop f*cking worrying about it!

Hope that clears it up. Though it's all hypotetical 'cause i ain't dying.

I was a heavy user back in my teens, back when E's were nearly pure MDMA, and cost £12, all 10 years ago, not like the shite you get now. No wonder they only cost £2. Anyhow, id defo say they made me a little paranoid, which is why I stopped taking them. Once id stopped taking them for a few months I was fine. Maybe its a short term thing?

I don't walk around constantly scared but I am easily worried.

If, for example, my sister ran off into a store and I couldn't see her, I would stop all i'm doing to go get her because I fear for what could happen.

Me being protective over my gf is common sense though, since she's a tiny lass and she lives in one of the roughest estates in Thanet.

It's certain things that trigger it off.
