Are you "sad" to go to the cinema on your own?

I have went to the cinema alone.. and i don't mean i went without friends. I mean, i was the only person in the whole cinema. Can't believe that actually showed the film for me alone, like 200 empty seats.

I don't really go to the cinema anymore though. Can't stand people talking, retards having to translate everything for their fucking kid, who for some reason is at the extra late showing.

But that is my personallity in general.
Prefer being alone during most things.

Agree with chron, if im alone i'd rather watch it at home with my own comforts and control.

Although the act itself isn't that social as you keep quiet and watch but going out to meet friends before and going for a chat / drink after is the reason why you go. Its nice to go with a partner as you can be together but can have a break from talking if you've been with them all day.

Maybe when I'm an old git I might go on my own but to be young it just seems so abnormal.

sometimes it can be hard to get the latest movies in the best quality tho :/
i wouldnt mind doing it really, been thinking of it lately. However i do know the feeling of looking at people doing social things alone and thinking that its sad they are alone. working in resturants you see people comming alone and ordering for 1 single person, eating quietly and leaving while looking real sad sometimes. it breaks my heart ;( i just wanna sit down and talk to them (i know that not all are sad loners because they eat alone, but some are!)... went to see the 2nd LoTR "alone" (i knew alot of people going to see it but i had been at work and didnt have any to escort me there so i went solo and met alot of people when there was a break)

My most memorable thing, cinema wise...hell...life wise! Is that i was sitting at a theatre, noone else there. I triplechecked even.

Had my drinkies.
Had seen this film previously three times.

The guy checks in, i wave, he laughs and gives the "ok" sign from way below at the door.

ive been to the cinema alone a few times. a couple times i had no one to go with/anyone who wanted to go and other times id been smoking pot and it seemed like a good idea.
no matter what circumstance, i dont believe its sad etc to go on your own. its like saying you cant go shopping on your own or to a cafe to read a book or something.

i love going to the cinema but the one in town got taken over by another company. it seems to be going down hill now, with sound being out of synch for example. a lot of the time there is just too much high frequency and not enough mid ranges in the sound aswell.

Havent' been to the cinema in a long time but when I went I never was alone. When I come to think of it, the company didn't really matter and was mostly acting as a distraction. If I would go nowdays I probably would go alone instead. Im there to see a movie, not talk - if I wanted to talk with my mates id do that without paying for a movie.

Never gone alone, not usually the one to take initiative to go see em, mates usually drag me along.

But if it was a movie I was burning to see, and noone else wanted to / could, I wouldn't mind go seeing it on my own.

I don't think it's sad to do so, but I wouldn't do it. For me, going to the cinema is some kind of social event and I don't really want to do that alone =)

was a ugc then changed to a cineworld. cant take your own stuff in anymore either and the price of refreshments is crazy. costs abuot £3 for 700ml of coke, £4 for a large popcorn, £3 for a tube of pringles and a fucking hot dog is about £3.50. this is middlesbrough ffs, we arnt made of money!

Havent been to the cinema in four years, being disgusted with the movie industry etc, but before that i went rather frequently on my own - early showings during a weekday with hardly anyone else in the theater was the best moviegoing experience for me as i like to immerse myself and not have any distractions when i watch a movie.
