I've never been to the cinema alone. But I don't see anything wrong with it lol. You go to watch the film, not to chat to someone the whole time.

I've never been to the cinema alone, but I certainly would. I suppose it depends if you go to the cinema as a social event, or if you go to see the film :p

Nothing wrong with it imo, but I just wouldn't do it.. I like to have someone to talk to about the movie afterwards

I'm surprised no one's mentioned about going to see a porn movie on your own

I like going to the movies with friends, but there's something luxurious about going to the cinema in the morning with the whole theatre to yourself soaking up the movie all to yourself.

I've gone a couple of times alone, only because I actually like going to the cinema and I couldn't handle people I knew talking all the way through the movie. (After seeing The Island (iirc) I didn't go to the cinema for like 5 months because the people I was with never shut up)

I think it really depends on the movie though. I mean, I wouldn't go and see something like Ice Age on my own, as it's a group sorta film.. BUT I would go see something like.. Grindhouse on my own, as not many people I know actually like Taran or the sound of the movie.

So.. "Depends....maybe...other reasons"

They'll all have the same idea, and you'll all end up seeing each other in the theatre anyway

First time i saw Die Hard III, was with brother and friends.
Second time around, was with another friend.
Third/fourth and fifth time around...just couldn't get any more friends :(

No, going to cinema isn't wrong.

It's cool to go with people(who you know can SHUT THE F*CK UP!), but it's cool to go alone too. More "intense" as an experience. You can really dig into the world without distractions.

If you go all the time alone 'cause you don't have anyone to go with, it's a bit sad, but only in a way that "Well, kinda saddening that someone could be so lonely." Not sad as "pathetic".

Agree with Toto's last comments.

There is a DEFINITE plus side of going on your own: no one pinches your popcorn !

Never been there alone myself thou, and doubtfully i ever will, just need to express myself after a good movie to a m8.

Agree with chron, if im alone i'd rather watch it at home with my own comforts and control.

Although the act itself isn't that social as you keep quiet and watch but going out to meet friends before and going for a chat / drink after is the reason why you go. Its nice to go with a partner as you can be together but can have a break from talking if you've been with them all day.

Maybe when I'm an old git I might go on my own but to be young it just seems so abnormal.

I'll go to the cinema with friends to see a film, but if they're not particularly bothered then I'll wait for the DVD release to watch at home.

!!!!

that's so fucking annoying. I've got a mate who keeps asking when we're watching movies. Especially if it's horror movies

"What happens next!??" "Why is his head cut off?!" "Is that the sister of the dogs brother!?!?"

ye i go on my own, treat myself to the big comfy chairs :) But if a mate wanted to go see it aswell i'd go with em. Don't see why ppl get the impression it's sad to go alone, heck i much prefer to watch a good movie on a massive screen than my own tv.

i rarely go to the cinema. its hot, crowded and the kids cant fucking shut up. mobile phones ringing, some random jackass keeps talking to the movie like he was in it etc etc etc.

no, give it on DvD and stay the fuck away from my apartment so i can enjoy it in peace.

the few times i go to the cinema with friends/gf they know that if they try taking any of MY popcorn they risk loosing their arm :)

if they want it that badly they can bloody go buy their own :)

Gone plenty of times during the day on my own when i got the day off and GF is at work.

You will be suprised just how many ppl are on their own in the day and i think its because they just want to chill and watch a film without anyone talking.

Quite relaxing to tell you the truth.
