im 21, my IQ is very high, yet my common sense is severely lacking, and I think alot of the older people around here have good advice to give

But it is true, in a way, that age brings wisdom, but it mostly applies to common knowledge of things and such.

Like for example, you probably owuldn't have a f*cking clue about what to do if you fell off a steady job into a debthole, but me as an example, have gone through it, so i could tell about it.

The thing about age/wisdom is, that while young ones may get wiser, especially with the likes of internet, you never should forget about the things that you can learn only with life.

Hmm a difficult one indeed, had you of had the proper insurances in place losing your job does not have to spiral you into a debthole. I have been buying things since I was 18 on cc's and loans. Always have some form of insurance covering your monthly outgoings incase of unemployment. Cost you a minimal amount of cash every month and if you are unlucky enough to lose your job you have peace of mind that you aint going to go under.

So I guess the age/experience thing does not always run true.

Never heard of such here, so i doubt that would be an option even.

Only thing you can do when you fall unemployed, is get financial aid from the goverment(unemployment "pay") and living help. Those barely covered my rent, not to mention eating, so you can see how f*cked up the situation was, let alone is after a year.
