Are lv48 Ice pets worth it? - or lv50 ice thuergs?

Just wondering since my cosin wants to respec his earth theurg to high lv ice at 50 - is it worth it and is there any full ice theurgs at all in alb??

no there not. theres hardly any difference between those and the next lowest down.
my pec is 41 ice 35 earth and would never consider going 50 ice. 1 min duration earth pets kill support like nothing else. and 8 sec pbt is better than nothing.

agree with stinkie.. although yes they will nuker a little harder and be reisisted a tiny amount less.. your losing so much utility by speccing for them its not worth it.

Im sure its been tried, before all this respec malarky plenty of people were running around perfectly happily with what you leet kids would call a "gimp spec".

Theurgist team lead has made a test that shows the difference between level 25 ice pet and level 48 ice pet to be rather small.

So if you only take ice for the pet, you can stop ice at level 25.

and the earth + ice pet combo is pretty nice aswell, ice pets on pbaoers and a combo of earth n' ice on the rest (btw lvl 48 earth pets got speed 6 nerf hehe)

no feel free to go 50 ice im sure youll enjoy it...i know i may try it just for kicks.. but tbh id rather have the shitty AOE mez from Air or the PBT from Earth aswell....

ofc speccing 50 ice will give you VERY nice snare nukes... and some really hard hitting pets but really i dont see many grps wanting a pure nuker when the wizard does it soo much better, i feel its better to have more than one type of pet.. afterall you are a pet class persay ofc not like cabby or chanter but your pets are your defining ability..it makes sense to want to have as many as possible.. nukers to deal with runaways and melee earth / stun air to tie up healers and casters... dont forget that they take 3s or so to cast their nuke.. thats more than enuff time for a healer or quick caster to do their thing.. ofc its personal choice and im pretty sure there are some 50spec thurgs outthere and loving it... but i guess it depends on what u want to achieve..

have to say ive always loved playing ice thurgs in the Bg's even b4 the revamp of the frontload damage they do.... always wanted to take one onto 50 and see how they perform in RvR solo style.. i guess if you could get an AOE ROOT off quick enuff you could take pretty much any class with 5 or 6 pets on them.. and a few well places nukes.. still i can only hope someone makes a Solo ice theurg video.

personally i think pbt is over-rated for rvr - u need at least earth26 though for a pvp/rvr theurg (ofc)
- but tbh i think u cud benefit more if u ditched earth 26/35 and put it into ice/air instead - i mean 1/2 the time pbt dosen't seem to come into much usage does it? (=actually think its slightly gimped in rvr cuz i've seen axe wielding mids break thru it on their 1st hit many times b4 on our grp members) ofc my pbt was earth26 so i guess if its earth45 it might b diffrent but u probly have a full earth thuerg anyways.. - but vs hibs i'll rather have more magical usage than sum cheap pbt thats got no protection vs magic spells

though i cant see many benefits from going full ice... - i recommend ice/air over earth if your char is for rvr??

surposedly "visur" is a rr4+ full ice spec theurg - dunno if he was j/k or not nor do i know what the lv48 pet is called but hes probly the only new recent rvr full ice theurg in the whole of excal/alb... (unless high rr rvr theurgs are actually full ice theurgs like Outlaw ) - which i doubt
