Arathi Basin, located in Arathi Valley, is a fast and exciting Battleground. The Basin itself is rich with resources and coveted by both the Horde and the Alliance. The Forsaken Defilers and the League of Arathor have arrived at Arathi Basin to wage war over these natural resources and claim them on behalf of their respective sides.


The Basic Concept

Both sides of up to 15 players each compete to occupy the five resource nodes spread throughout Arathi Basin.
Each claimed node generates resources for the owning team. The more nodes your team controls, the quicker you gain natural resources. The first team that gains 2,000 resources wins.
Both the winning and losing team earn honor after completing an Arathi Basin Battleground, as accumulated resources translate directly into bonus honor for players. Even if you don't win the Battleground, you walk away with honor.
As players compete, they will improve their reputation with the Defilers or League of Arathor, thereby earning many new and powerful rewards.
Arathi Basin is banded by level, just like Warsong Gulch. The minimum level to join is 21, and different instances will spawn for players between levels 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, and 51-60.

Apparently its "influenced" by BF1942. Control majority of the points and you enemys tickets drop down, (this one they go up though).

Another Bg yet to be introduced is Azshara Crater but not much about that one is know yet. Clicky

Just wish they would cluster the BG to increase the chances of getting a game on some of the quieter servers.

As long there are ques for BGs its very stupid idea to add more BGs.

Wouldn't more BGs make the waiting time drop, or even take it away? oO

If you have one apple for two children, they would both get half an apple.
If you have two apples for two children, they would both get an entire apple.

You know how the queues work at all?

You got queues because there isn't enough players on one faction (or both) wanting to play in your battleground. With even more battlegrounds, chances are the queues will be even longer (especially for the old battlegrounds) since people would be even more spread out.

After trying it on testserver I can say that it crashes very good, I did manage to take a stable tho which ensured a victory for Alliance due to the rest of the Horde team had crashed.

Sounds like a very nice concept - with decent rewards, even for the loosing team which is very much needed in my opinion. An Alliance random group as it is now wont stand a chance at all against a Horde random group, and comes out of every BG empty handed.

Something that strikes me (looking in from outside since I haven't played it) at first glance, is that it almost looks tailor made for Shamans defensively.

Don't construe that as a whine ;), it just looks that, with totems and all, they seem to have a good advantage given the nature of the Arathi Basin. Of course it looks like hunters would be good defenders for this also and with range mages (and hunters again) could probably make good offensivemojo go on here.

Until I play it, definately looks interesting.

does this mean that warriors and just gonna get killed as soon as they charge like in av?
