So if I add something like (as a footnote):

> cupholder not installed on delivery
> had to install cupholder myself
> parcel shelf noisy
> tracking device faulty
> had to take car to non-audi garage to attempt repair of tracker
> seat lever snapped
> 2 wasted visits due to wrong seat lever being ordered
> scraping noise under car
> nobody available to check scraping noise even when booked
> finance package mis-sold (£1800 cost to myself)
> 2nd attempt, still not repaired scraping noise

Just to restructure (and perhaps reword) some of the comments Tom.

Ive written coimplaints to companies in the past, can you need to be concise and to the point for them to sit up and take notice

Yeah, they didn't actually sell the finance, it was Audi who did that, so they're not to blame. I don't have an argument with the finance company, just the twat who failed to mention that 7% wasn't actually the APR, because I didn't understand the difference between flat rate and APR (which he obviously sussed).

Agreed, but your contract now is with the finance co, not the dealer. If you speak to the finance co they may be able to "muscle" the dealer into rectifying the faults. The finance company do not want to lose your business. Worth a call/letter. I once returned a car to the dealer, gave him the keys, stopped the DD. I literally walked away from the deal, not sure how you would stand nowadays.

Is there absolutely nothing on the forms you've signed about the 14.2% APR?

Just been doing some thinking. I've applied for a loan to clear the finance, should that be accepted (I see no reason why not tbh), I really quite fancy a BMW 530d Touring.

Anyone here driven one? The insurance drops by about 300 squid, and its only 1.5 seconds slower from 0-60 (for a diesel heh).

Quite quick, easy-ish on fuel...

...but red lines at about 4500 rpm?

bugger that ;)

Good car I say, won't be in the same league as the TT for fun but it'll be great for long hauls with plenty space.

Allow me to use a fashionable phrase.

"Diesels suck the big one."

Keep the TT and get a proper garage to sort it.

Aye but its an automatic so it doesn't matter. I've driven autos before, I do miss them while sat in motorway queues. Diesels don't bother me I drove around for 4 years in my A4 with a 1.9Tdi - this BMW 3litre is reckoned to be a really smooth powerful engine.

I can't think of a more hateful car to drive than an automatic diesel. Yes the 3 litre BMW diesel is good "for a diesel", but the 3 litre BMW engine is good full stop. I reckon you should look around seondhand and get a proper sports car this time, either a Boxster one of these :-

Thing is bods, when you're paying about £3000 a year in fuel, and buying the diesel you'd be paying about £2100, it kind of makes sense (minus VAT). Plus I charge my business mileage at the same pence-per-mile rate whether its petrol or diesel, so the savings are even more than that.

Oh I'm not being tight fisted, but the pure shiteness of the dealer makes me want to get rid.

What throd said. I got stung once by a member of the family and the car company. I was "Asked" to help someone out and collect a car for somebody who had just purchased a brand new Vauxhall Omega. As I turned up i was asked to sign a form to say I had collected the vehicle. Thought it was just procedure.

Five day later I got a letter from Lloyds TSB Fianance to say Thank you for your custom Mr Ash. You are now the guaruntor(sp) for an £18000.00 loan. If Mr Sharky fcuker in your family defaults on payments you are responsible. I phoned the dealers up immediately and they made it perfectley clear that was not there problem as far as they were concerned the deal was done. Any problems take it up with the finance company. I explained I was explicitly told that I was only signing to say I had collected the car. Their reply was "wheres my proof"
Just to hijack, but if that person did default, and they tried to make you pay, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on. If they mis-represented to you, what you were signing, they cant then turn around and say "ahh well, he should have read it".
If you want me to cite cases I can do :p

Gonna have to sell the TT privately to make financial sense. Still got a major complaint going through audi re the finance, so I'll leave it a few months to see how things go. As it is, selling it now I'd lose about 2 grand on what I paid :( The longer I leave it, the less I lose, so to speak.

Went in another Audi garage, the guy I saw used to work for BMW. What a change. The guy was fantastic, very honest, and we spoke more about Beemers than we did Audis! Might get the 525D instead.

V6 isn't an option I'm afraid, can't leave that parked up with my gear in the back, it would be gone.

Tom, remember you can't sell a car that is on finance: it's against the law. I presume you've got a loan sorted.

Don't blame you about the V6, it's not practical - you're not gonna get anything in the back being rear-engined and you can fit only a few small things under the bonnet.

BTW, are you "parrot of doom" over on Pistonheads? :D

Oh yeah don't worry about the finance thats gonna be sorted next week :) Parrot of Doom is my nick on most boards, and usually my ingame name. Don't ask where it came from, it was a moment of inspiration...

Yeah TVR's sound like raw muscle cars with a decat fitted or custom exhaust, popping and spitting all over the shop.

Woah. I definitely want a Clio V6 now. That engine sounds so raw. I was half thinking of a new shape Golf GTi, but I think it might be worth spending the extra on the Clio tbh.

You really want a MK2 over a MK1, the MK1 is marginally quicker than the 182 but heavier on fuel and running costs. The interior on the MK2 is also much nicer.

I've also heard the Mk1 can be a bit of a pig to drive. The Mk2 is a far better sorted car.

Heh, me dad's just picked up his new 5-series (god it's nice inside, shame about the rattly diesel motor in the front). Before he was even home the dealer phoned here to say that they'd forgotten to put his tax disc in the car. One of the salesmen is now driving over here to drop it off. Bearing in mind here is half an hour away at least, i'd say that was pretty damn good customer service. So I guess Tom, if you want looked after, buy a BMW.

I'm keeping the TT for the time being. I'd lose too much money to sell it privately so early, so I'll probably get shut sometime in the Summer.

Mind you, if I have another bumper year of work, I might just get rid sooner.
