Since moving house into an area where NTL arnt Ive gone with ADSL. From the choice of gamers and from reading www.adslguide.org I went for nildram. I get the odd problem where my ADSL drops and the modem says 'Physical Line Error' and then works again. From this Im guessing this is down to BT. I know I was very border line with the 5K distance so im not willing to log a complaint for them to say that I shouldnt have passed then.

Also, the feedback on the status of my order from Nildram was spot on, tell you everything you need to know.

GG Nildram

Oh and about CBUK, I had to ring up www.giointernet.co.uk to ask for this number cause I changed over a company from them to Nildram. They asked what I wanted it for and I told them cause im moving ISP due to the crap service im currently getting. He gave it me with no other questions.

Ring BTO. Get CBUK number. Ring Nildram. Give CBUK number. Wait 7 days. Done.

Any fuckups are invariably down to BT.

Been longer than 7 days to move this company over. They gave me a date of 4th of April to move over. That was on the 24th of March.

Speaking as an ex demon adsl customer, demon can seriously be hazardous to your health, i.e. its fucking shit.

I would rather have BTO than Demon, just a word of advice ;)

Yeah, bt confirmed the fault was their's and it was fixed about 10.15 iirc. 2 central pipes were down as a result and everyone got squeezed onto the remaining ones, which is why performance was cack for a while.
If you dont already ...... you can subscribe to the nildram mailing service thingy which keeps you up to date with outstanding fault tickets ........... which is nice ;)

Nildram provide a standard dialup account as part of the ADSL subscription, so if you can't check these things while you are at work, for example, you can use the 0845 dialup from home. Unless you have no contingency plan at all of course.

Oh that's right, I'd forgotten about that, its just so simple to use 0845, pay thru the nose and tie up your phone line just so you can get "up-to-date information", no problemo obviously

Admittedly I can just dial in occasionally, or perhaps just wait until the service is back up anyway, for what it is worth.

hhmmmmm, having a bad day?
Yes, it's simple to use an 0845
No, it's not expensive
I don't think you will be 'tying up the phone line' massively just by checking your emails

Oh well, the options there. It's up to you if you use it. Just trying to help.
