I have it installed, but I don´t use it much. It´s a little more comfortable to use than VLC, but the big plus of VLC is that it plays everything... just *everything*, which is something that GOM doesn´t.
If you´re happy with VLC and don´t need extra convenience stuff, use VLC.
If VLC is too basic fo you and you want easier access to options, use GOM as your first player and switch to VLC if needed.
For me, I`m mostly happy with Mediaplayer and VLC.
OK thanks. TBH, I'm quite happy with VLC.
At the end of the day I just want a media player that plays all types of video without having to D/L codecs manually. I like the snapshot facility on VLC to take screenies (not sure if GOM has this)
I use SMPlayer, plays everything VLC does (that i've been able to throw at it anyway) and using less resources, with better quality. To get the best performance, you need to download a dual core optimised version of mplayer, but that's easy enough, though it's still pretty decent even without that.
Use GOM and its brilliant. I have VLC to playback films from my video camera. BOth are good though GOM has better sound quality, at least to my untrained ears.
